El Templo de Hatshepsut, también conocido como Deir el-Bahari, es un antiguo templo funerario egipcio ubicado en la orilla occidental del río Nilo, cerca de la ciudad de Luxor. Los Colosos de Memnón son dos enormes estatuas de piedra ubicadas en la orilla occidental del río Nilo, cerca de la ciudad de Luxor en Egipto. Son todo lo que queda de un complejo de templos mortuorios más grande construido por el faraón Amenhotep III durante el siglo XIV a. C. (aproximadamente 1350-1334 a. C.). Las estatuas representan a Amenhotep III sentado en su trono, y cada estatua mide unos 18 metros (60 pies) de altura y pesa aproximadamente 700 toneladas. Fueron tallados en bloques individuales de piedra arenisca de cuarcita y originalmente colocados en la entrada del templo del faraón. Las estatuas fueron creadas para proteger el templo y representar el poder y la autoridad divinos del faraón.

Ahmed A was really the best guide we could have ever had. Seriously this guy knew his stuff well on ancient Egyptian history and was excellent. Covered all the must see in the valley of the kings, Hatshepsut temple and menmon etc. He also provided cold water bottles and ice cream which was much needed in the Luxor heat. Thank you Ahmed 👍👍👍

Our half-day tour started right at 5:30 AM when Ammar (our guide) and our driver picked us up at our hotel to head to the West Bank. Thanks to the early start, we were the very first people to enter the Valley of the Kings right at 6:00 AM—which was the absolute best way to beat the intense June heat and the crowds. We hit the absolute crowning heavyweights of the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut, and the Colossi of Memnon. Ammar seemed to know every local we encountered along the way, and everyone greeted us with warm smiles. He was fantastic at explaining thousands of years of history without overwhelming us with information. He also did a masterful job of balancing structured time explaining the history with plenty of "free time" for my wife and me to explore the sites on our own terms at each of the sites He was always prompt; available, and prepared. He also graciously took many requested photos of us. In fact, we enjoyed our morning tour so much that we asked Ammar to guide us through Karnak Temple as well. If you are visiting Luxor, I highly recommend booking this private tour!
