Este recorrido le permite visitar tres antiguos reinos de Sri Lanka, ubicados en la provincia del noroeste. Visita el complejo del palacio real de Dambadeniya. Visite la hermosa fortaleza de roca de Yapahuwa. Vea la ciudad vieja de Panduwasnuwara con sus ruinas que abarcan un período de más de dos milenios.

Itinerario
Comenzará su recorrido a las 6:00 a.m. cuando lo recojan de su hotel en Colombo. Tardarás 2 horas en viajar a tu primer destino, Dambadeniya. Se recomienda que traiga un desayuno empacado para comer en el camino. El reino de Dambadeniya estaba en su apogeo a mediados del siglo XIII, especialmente durante el reinado del rey Parakramabahu II. Fue un rey pacífico que llevó la literatura cingalés a nuevas alturas con sus obras maestras poéticas épicas "Kavisilumina" y "Visuddi Marga Sannasa". Podrá ver los restos recientemente excavados del antiguo Templo del Diente, donde se encontraba anteriormente la Reliquia del Diente, y las ruinas del complejo del palacio real con sus jardines, paredes y fosos.
El viaje hasta su destino final, Panduwasnuwara, tomará hasta una hora y media. La antigua ciudad fue uno de los primeros reinos de Sri Lanka, y fue la capital durante el siglo V a. C. El sitio también se usó mucho más tarde en el siglo XII, lo que resultó en una mezcla de ruinas de varios períodos. Las ruinas se extienden sobre un área de casi 12 hectáreas. Algunos de los lugares más notables son el monumento recientemente restaurado que fue el antiguo Templo del Diente de dos pisos, las ruinas del palacio real y el depósito artificial Panda Wewa, considerado uno de los primeros sistemas de riego que el hombre haya hecho. También visitará el museo de Panduwasnuwara, que tiene muchos hallazgos arqueológicos de excavaciones en el área. Pasará una hora y media en Panduwasnuwara. Saldrá a las 5:00 pm y regresará a su hotel.
Saldrás para Yapahuwa a las 9:00 a.m. Llegarás a las 10:30 a.m. Yapahuwa era la capital de Sri Lanka justo después de Dambadeniya cuando los Dravidianos invadieron. La fortaleza fue construida sobre una roca gigante al estilo de la fortaleza de roca Sigiriya. Sin embargo, la arquitectura de esta fortaleza es completamente diferente a la de Sigiriya con amplias escaleras, hermosas esculturas de piedra y esculturas muy detalladas en pilares. La fortaleza fue utilizada más tarde como monasterio por los monjes budistas. En su visita, podrá subir a la fortaleza y ver las ruinas de la estupa en la cima de la roca. La estupa tiene algunas estatuas e imágenes notables de la era Kandyan que puedes leer detenidamente. Pasará un par de horas en Yapahuwa. Yapahuwa fue una de las capitales efímeras de la Sri Lanka medieval. La ciudadela de Yapahuwa, situada a medio camino entre Kurunagala y Anuradhapura, fue construida alrededor de una enorme roca de granito que se elevaba abruptamente casi cien metros sobre las tierras bajas circundantes. En 1272, el rey Bhuvenakabahu transfirió la capital de Polonnaruwa a Yapahuwa ante las invasiones dravidianas del sur de la India, trayendo consigo la Reliquia del Diente Sagrado. Tras la muerte del rey Bhuvenakabahu en 1284, los pandyanos del sur de la India invadieron Sri Lanka una vez más y lograron capturar la Reliquia del Diente Sagrado. Tras su captura, Yapahuwa fue en gran parte abandonada y habitada por monjes budistas y ascetas religiosos.

This was perhaps the most underwhelming (and overpriced) excursion I've ever done through Viator. Two of the stops left me wondering what I even signed up for. The Yapahuwa stop was the only worthwhile stop. That was the only redeeming thing for me not being completely disappointed with this day trip.
A great tour. The ruins were very interesting, but the highlight was climbing up Yapahuwa Rock Fortress. Our driver Christopher was excellent.

Very interesting tour to three cool sites with no tourists! The history is fascinating and the views are incredible. Two of the sites are amazing and the third also quite interesting although not as impressive. It's quite a lot of driving for one day but definitely worth it. The driver was great - sharing his views on the country and sites with us. Our only complaint is that the tour should advise you that you will have 2 local guides at the sites. Knowing this is important so you plan for appropriate tips to them in addition to the driver.
It was a great trip. the places are not so popular for tourists but they are really handsome. The driver follow us in everything we have done and was so kind with us. The tour was not like the other touristic tours that takes you in other places you don't want to go. Soo.. Highly Recommend.
Our driver is very knowledgeable about the history of Sri Lanka. He is a kind and experienced person.He was very friendly with us.He did everything according to our needs. He recommended us a very clean place to have breakfast and lunch. His guidance is excellent.. I would like to tell you to go check out this unknown masterpiece.. Yapahuwa is located in a mountainous area with rocks.. The view is amazing.. I thought it was Sigiriya.. Such a wonderful creation.
Yapahuwa is a great place where you can see the greatness of the advanced technology and creations of the past.. The mountain area with big stones is amazing.. It is as beautiful as Sigiriya.. The view is good.. Driver guidance and his knowledge were very important.. He really made our trip very successful.. A very important fun trip than expected.
I have been wanting to see the yapahuwa creation for some time.. I visited Sigiriya during my previous visit to Sri Lanka and missed it due to lack of time. Truly a masterpiece of the same class as Sigiriya. The arts and crafts developed in the history of Sri Lanka are amazing. The fact that my driver was also very knowledgeable helped me a lot. A must visit.
A trip to see the amazing arts and crafts of Sri Lanka. Yapahuwa is excellent. Black stone steps were created very beautifully.. The location is unimaginable. There is an impressive view.. It is quite a distance but it is an absolutely wonderful trip that can be done in a day. The driver and the vehicle were very good...a great trip that I would recommend
