Descripción
Corona es el epicentro culinario de la comunidad latinoamericana de Nueva York, un lugar donde se pueden encontrar especialidades regionales que van desde Tierra del Fuego hasta la frontera norte de México con Estados Unidos. En este recorrido por los elementos esenciales culinarios de Corona, salimos a la calle un sábado, cuando las planchas y parrillas en este ya animado vecindario están trabajando horas extras y los vendedores ambulantes salen con toda su fuerza. Comenzando en Corona Plaza, pasaremos por una panadería mexicana familiar para disfrutar de pasteles dulces para el desayuno. Desde allí, continuaremos hasta un lugar apartado donde nos sentaremos con las familias del vecindario para disfrutar de un abundante brunch de cabra asada al estilo mexicano. Continuaremos por la Avenida Roosevelt, pasando por vendedores ambulantes, una panadería argentina y haremos una parada para comprar un cholado. Terminaremos nuestro día en una pequeña bodega. Esta última parada nos deja en el límite de Jackson Heights y Elmhurst, haber probado lo que hace de Queens una Tierra Prometida tan culinaria.

Itinerario
Comenzaremos el día en Corona Plaza, solo para peatones, el bullicioso lugar de encuentro del vecindario, y pasaremos por una panadería mexicana familiar donde nos uniremos al ritual del fin de semana de elegir pasteles y panecillos dulces para el desayuno de grandes bandejas dispuestas para los clientes. Desde allí, continuaremos hasta un lugar apartado donde nos sentaremos con las familias del vecindario para disfrutar de un abundante brunch de cabra asada al estilo mexicano.
Nuestro recorrido gastronómico en Queens continúa por Roosevelt Avenue, que los fines de semana está repleta de vendedores ambulantes de toda América Latina. Para satisfacer nuestro gusto por lo dulce, pasaremos por una panadería argentina de la esquina para disfrutar de algunas delicias tradicionales y haremos una parada para disfrutar de un "cholado", un postre helado híbrido y ensalada de frutas también conocido como el cono de nieve colombiano. Terminaremos nuestro día en una pequeña bodega abierta por un hombre de Veracruz, México, y entraremos para tomar un cóctel de celebración (camarones). Esta última parada nos deja en el límite de Jackson Heights y Elmhurst, dos vecindarios de inmigrantes que tienen sus propias riquezas culinarias (y que se exploran más a fondo como parte de nuestra caminata más larga por Queens), un tentador recordatorio de que durante este medio día hemos Solo arañó la superficie de lo que hace de Queens una Tierra Prometida culinaria.
