I recently attended a three hour private Bulgarian food and drink tasting tour of Sofia with friends. Our guide, Rali was excellent, friendly and very knowledgeable. The venues we visited were all good and my friends and I felt that we gained an excellent insight into the history and culture of Bulgaria, it’s people and the cuisine.
Our guide was super knowledgeable, friendly, outgoing & very easy to chat to. She made the time fly by & we both had an excellent time. The food was tasty varied & of good portions.
We had the most wonderful evening walking through central Sophia and tasting classic Bulgarian dishes! We learned so much about the history of Bulgaria, told through the stories and tastings of its traditional foods and drinks. And it felt like having dinner with an old friend. Do not miss the chance to take this tour - you'll love it!

Get ready to try some great food, while at the same time get information on the history on Sofia. Ivo, our guide was great! He gave made the tour great!!!
Guide was friendly and did a good job explaining how the food was affected by the area’s history. Plenty of food, good pace, and great information. Would have preferred more traditional banitsa but the rest was delicious.
Nessie gave us a wonderful tour of Sofia, sharing stories of the culture and history of the area. There was plenty of food, and it was all delicious. She also gave us some good recommendations of what else to do in the city while we were visiting. Overall, this was a wonderful experience.
Great food - quite substantial too. Great company for a pleasant evening - we were with Ivaylo, good intro on food, food selection, and drink including wine. Very much recommended.
This tour was an amazing introduction to Bulgarian food and history. The places we visited were diverse and excellent. Daniella, our tour guide, was full of information and fun. It was a great evening. Be sure to wear your walking shoes and come hungry.
