A wonderful way to experience the road to Hana. Our guide, Derrick, was the best. He was very knowledgeable and engaging. He tailored the tour to meet our exact goals. We highly recommend hiring him if you can. Mahalo, Derrick!
The entire experience wad fantastic. First and foremost, Derrick the tour guide is amazing, very knowledgeable on the the history of the island, and very easy to talk to. By the end of the trip it really felt like he was a part of our group. I would recommend the tour to anyone who does not want to feel rushed at the stops, and wants to have a great family trip that will be remembered forever. The schedule was very flexible and the sights are amazing.
Derrick was a fantastic tour guide. Super friendly and informative. He made it feel like we were roadtripping with a friend. He navigated the long windy road with ease and made all of us feel very comfortable and safe. The vehicle was comfortable and roomy and the snacks and drinks provided were a great addition. All the stops we made were beautiful and he made sure he set us up for success with all the must see spots. The waterfalls and views were breathtaking and the family enjoyed the fun history facts. If you are thinking about doing the road to Hana this is definitely the way to go if you want a stress free and fun tour. This is an experience that we will remember forever. 12/10 stars for Derrick.
Our experienced was amazing with( Derek Johnson) our tour Guide. Being in this kind of field you need to have a very Broad understanding and a better information about History of the island and be nailed it💕and also very affordable.. I would definitely recommend this company 💕
This is a lovely tour hitting all of the highlights on the road with a very knowledgeable guide, with lots of local knowledge and connections. Roomy and comfortable vehicle. The company was very easy to deal with. They were responsive to questions and flexible about pickup and guests. They even allowed me to add my grandson at the last minute! Highly recommend.
Derrick is fabulous. Very knowledge and engaging. He loved us asking questions which is good... we asked a bunch. Very safe driver, clean and new vehicle. I would rate him higher if I could. Worth every penny spent.

I do not trust this business. They canceled at 7:46 pm the night before we were scheduled to take our trip with them; less than 12 hours notice. No explanation given other than the vendor canceled. We booked this the first week of March to make sure we got to do the Road to Hana tour. Very unprofessional at best. I will read all the fine print and verify that I never use this company again in the future for ANY activities. If we had canceled with lessthan 24 hour notice on them, they would not have refunded our payment; but when they cancel on our group of 6 with less than 12 hours notice there's no penalty on them??? I don't think that's quite right. I hope this review will keep others from going through what we experienced. .

All Viator bookings are subject to the same platform terms for both guests and operators. This was not a standard cancellation choice or routine reschedule, but an unavoidable emergency situation outside normal operational control. We did respond directly to your email prior to your review to explain the situation. Derrick was truly an incredible guide — this was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Maui. We booked a private Road to Hāna tour, and it felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with a knowledgeable friend who genuinely loves his island. He customized the entire experience around our interests, encouraged questions, and shared so much about Maui, Hāna, and the local culture. Along the way, he told captivating legends, myths, and personal stories about the land and his family that made the history come alive in a way no guidebook ever could. The scenery was breathtaking — waterfalls cascading down lush cliffs, dramatic ocean views, and tropical landscapes that didn’t even look real. And the wildlife! We saw around 50 sea turtles and even spotted whales while driving. It felt magical. If you’re considering the Road to Hāna, do yourself a favor and book with Derrick. His knowledge, humor, and genuine aloha spirit made this an unforgettable experience.
