También escrito Al Khawr significa "mar en tres lados" en árabe. Más antiguo que Doha pero mucho más pequeño. Al Khor se encuentra a 50 kilómetros al norte de Doha. Solía ser el centro de la industria perlera en Qatar, pero perdió su importancia tras la introducción de las perlas cultivadas. Ahora cuenta con un pintoresco puerto donde se pueden encontrar tradicionales dhows de pesca, una cornisa que conduce a colonias de manglares y un museo que muestra las industrias de la pesca, las perlas y la construcción de dhows.

The tour guide/driver was very humble and knowledgeable. He drove safely at all times. The highlight of as viewing the camel race. Definitely recommend if you want to get a feel for authentic Qatar of the past years.
Superb experience with our guide Adnan who knew how to share with us interesting information on the origin of the name of the purple island (purple Island) as well as on the ruined fishing village listed as a UNESCO heritage and pearl fishing in Qatar at Fort Mubarah. The program is very comprehensive and offers a great diversity. Many thanks to Adnan for his kindness and resistance despite the heat in the middle of Ramadan. I loved it, but it’s an excursion for curious people. The visits are not spectacular but they help to know the country beyond Doha. In summer it can be harsh from the heat.
It was interesting seeing outside of the city. It was good to travel to the North and West of the country.
It was great to get out of Doha and see more of the Qatari countryside. We visited several outstanding cultural and historical sites of importance to the history of Qatar. Our driver and guide, Rehan, was excellent! He is very knowledgeable and gave us time to visit the importance sites. We would definitely ride with him again.
