El Monasterio de San Nicolás de San Jorge, también llamado Monasterio de Bodbe, es uno de los sitios religiosos más importantes de la región de Kakheti. Ahora, hay un convento de monjas donde el monasterio solía estar junto con la Catedral de San Jorge, parte del monasterio, contiene los restos de San Nino, quien trajo el cristianismo a Georgia.
La ciudad tiene muralla del siglo XIII. Wall tiene 21 torres, todas las cuales llevan el nombre del pueblo o ciudad al final del camino que pasa por cada puerta. La parte pequeña es accesible para caminar y tener vistas al valle de Alazani.
En la ciudad visitaremos el museo Signagi, que muestra las obras de Niko Pirosmani. Niko Pirosmani es un famoso pintor georgiano, nació en el pueblo cerca de Signagi. También tendremos un paseo por las hermosas calles del casco antiguo.
Al final del viaje visitaremos la bodega y degustaremos 10 tipos de vino.

We booked this private tour through Temo - a representative of “ Holiday.me “ We were picked up at 10am and reached the Bodbe monastery after nearly 2 hours.The view from the monastery is nice but the monastery is under renovation. Later we drove to see the 18th century defence wall and tower. We then drove to Signagi the city of love having nice architecture and 18th century houses. Our driver and guide, Shoto did not provide us any information on the tour, Signagi city or the Museum. We drove to Kakheti to visi a wine storage and bottling plant. Temo had agreed to show the wine making process in this tour which we found later that it could be seen only in autumn. Therefore, we just had degustation which we could have experienced in Tbilisi instead of traveling so long!!! During this visit we were given no explanation on the history and Culture of Georgia relevant to these places.
Going to Kakheti is an extraordinary journey. We made the transfer in our own car. I can recommend this car as a great means of transportation for tourists.You can take advantage of this offer. We visited Tsinandali- estate of Ilya Chavchavadze. It's a fabulous place. To be there is to take with you extraordinary experiences.Next visited Bodbe and Signaki. In Signaki, the Nico Pirosmani Museum. The journey was beautiful. And back to Tbilisi they returned in a comfortable car, with wonderful experiences.
