We made a 10-day trip and had a good time. Nazmul is an excellent guide prepared with fluent English. Courteous, kind and attentive to every detail and willing to meet every request. Bangladesh is a wonderful place, with wonderful people, but it is not always ready to welcome the western tourist. Sometimes the standard fails to be what is required, maybe hotels do not have heating or are a bit run down for us Europeans. Having Nazmul with us has helped us to live very “local” experiences that without him we certainly would not have been able to live. We highly recommend relying on him.
It sounds like Nazmul was the perfect bridge for your trip! Bangladesh can be a challenging destination for those used to European hotel standards, but as you noted, the local experiences are where the real magic happens.
