Marangu, en las faldas del Kilimanjaro, es una pequeña ciudad con una gran cantidad de historia y tradiciones ancestrales. Déjese llevar por la tribu Chagga, el paisaje único de la selva tropical y el interior del cultivo de café. Por la mañana nos dirigimos a la Puerta de Marangu (1900 m), el punto de partida para las caminatas del Kilimanjaro a través de la Ruta Marangu. Te darás una idea del espíritu de la montaña. Marangu es el hogar de la tribu local Chagga y aprenderá su historia y tradiciones en esta excursión de día completo.Visitaremos una finca de café, donde aprenderá cómo se cultiva, cosecha y procesa el café localmente. Intente procesar, tostar y preparar una taza de café recién hecho, luego salga hacia las cascadas de Ndoro. Nuestra caminata hasta la base de la cascada nos llevará a través de un exuberante paisaje verde y el descenso dura 1 hora. Luego, visitaremos las cuevas subterráneas de Chagga y el museo en vivo.

Itinerario
Por la mañana nos dirigimos a la Puerta de Marangu (1900 m), el punto de partida de todas las caminatas del Kilimanjaro a través de la Ruta Marangu. Tendrá la oportunidad de tomar fotografías del imponente Kilimanjaro y tener una idea del espíritu de la montaña. El área alrededor de Marangu es el hogar de la tribu local Chagga y aprenderá todo sobre su historia y tradiciones en esta excursión de día completo. Nuestra segunda parada será una visita a una pequeña finca de café, donde aprenderá cómo se cultiva, cosecha y procesa el café localmente. Intente procesar, tostar y preparar una taza de café recién hecho. Una vez que haya terminado de disfrutar de su coffee break, partiremos hacia las Cataratas de Ndoro. Nuestra caminata hasta la base de la cascada nos llevará a través de un exuberante paisaje verde y el descenso dura aproximadamente 1 hora. Aquí tienes la oportunidad de relajarte y darte un refrescante baño en la alberca de la cascada.
Otro punto a destacar será la visita a las Cuevas Subterráneas de Chagga y el Museo en Vivo de Chagga. En tiempos de sequía, los masai emigraron por las laderas bajas del Kilimanjaro, en busca de comida y agua. Esclavizaron y mataron a la gente local de Chagga. En defensa de estos ataques, los Chagga construyeron una extensa red de cuevas subterráneas. Su guía le ilustrará animadamente el conflicto mientras visita las cuevas. Luego continuamos pasando un tiempo en el Chagga Live Museum, un pequeño museo al aire libre, que le brindará más información sobre la vida tradicional del chagga. Nuestro recorrido también incluye una degustación culinaria chagga, cuando paramos para almorzar en un pequeño restaurante. Aquí se le servirá una comida caliente tradicional, más tarde también tendrá la oportunidad de probar los licores locales como la cerveza de plátano y el vino.

Before Tanzania safari I wanted to know the history of chaga people, after waterfall visit I visited the caves where I got the history of chagga people.One of the best moment was to get a really and delicious African Lunch with my Team.
Do you real want to know more about the chagga tribe, I visited the chagga escaping caves, it was so amazing and somethings I though am gonna come closer with. It was just a day trip but with a lot of funny
It was really breathtaking to see everything from up there an interesting tour it is. For lunch we were invited to a family that prepared amazing delicious dish. Whoever visits Kilimanjaro do not hesitate to be doing this.
The water falls is one of the longest in Tanzania. The village and Moshi town provided a good view. We later saw Kilimanjaro and we were happy to choose this trek to the falls
I am recommending to go to the water falls as these are amongst the tallest in Tanzania. Do the tour when you are in Moshi as the place is near. Marangu is my favourite place for day trips. Is lies of coffee cultivated slopes of the mountain. The landscape is breathe taking especially when gazing at Moshi from the hiking. The water falls are safe for swimming this is my favorite destination because I like swimming and am willing to do it with many people.
When walking on the hill our guide was explaining about the history of the Chagga tribe. These are the dwellers of the foot of Kilimanjaro. He was very detailed about them and was happy to introduce us to the locals who were helping us to make coffee from the plant tree. This is something I never did and was happy to do it this time on this trip. He went to the water falls and swim the water was called so I did not do this activity.
The water is safe for swimming. It can get really called and become hard to swim unless you come from a really cold country. You can go to the top of the waterfalls but you have to be careful because I do not think one can survive a drop from this height. Our guide found chameleon and was playing with it on his hands. We later took some pictures and were able to do the same with it.
Geofrey arranged a car and guide to come with us to Marangu village. We had fun coffee tour with very positive energy floating around. The banana beer at a local bar was nice. Different plants grow in this village including the coffee. We helped prepare a cup of coffee and our tour ended with us going to the Lunch which was prepared by a local family. I had a great day this day.
We had an incredible guide who told stories about the villagers and explained the plants we saw and why they grew there. The plants were so nice that were used to mark a border between one piece of land a villager had and the other. We ended up swimming and taking lunch after preparing a cup of coffee and plying with kids. I recommend starting this journey from Moshi town it is a hustle going there yourself and can use more money than when you plan it before there are many tourist traps.
When traveling in Moshi I was recommended by my taxi driver to this company to arrange my day trip this is when I came to their office and I got recommendations of few places I can visit for a day trip. I also liked Marangu water falls because it was a major place that I can go to and find lots of water dropping from the normal river course. I was met by a well detailed guide who took me to the waters then later locals have me to prepare
