Wonderful tour to see a different part of Mexico and the city. I am a birder and enjoyed looking for birds at the lake. Bring binoculars.
We're so glad you enjoyed the tour and discovering a different part of Mexico and the city! It's wonderful to hear that birders like you appreciate the lake as a special spot. Great tip about bringing binoculars!
Ramón was an excellent tour guide with awesome driver Alejandro. This was a nice little half day trip getting away from the hustle and bustle of Guadalajara and enjoying the quiet and gorgeous towns of Chapala and Ajijic. Great price for all that you get to do :)
Ramon our tour guide explained everything history behind it all during our trip to Chápala. We even had the opportunity to visit Vicente Fernandez store and bought a few souvenirs. Walking throughout Chápala and Ajijic and noticed the tranquility of its people with great views of the mountains and lake made a day worth visiting. We will recommend to friends and family. Thank you!
This trip was one of my favorite during Guadalajara travel. Since we were the only ones who purchased the trip, our tour was converted into private. We had enough time to walk, explore the lake and to take a boat for lake cruise. Amazing trip! Highly recommend!
Chapala is one of our favorite places! We are delighted to have been able to share it with you. We hope to see you soon!
This was a nice tour. Our guide was very nice and full of information. Our first stop was at Vicente Fernandez’s ranch on the way to the lake. We were able to take a quick picture outside the gated home. Then we were able to walk around the main Chapala area with our guide. We also paid an additional fee to take a small fishing boat for a short cruise in the lake. We then had lunch on the lake in Ajijic. Lunch wasn’t included in the price but we enjoyed the food recommendation from our guide. Over all a good excursion. If you want time to shop around you may need to take a full day excursion because we didn’t really have time or maybe not do a boat ride.
Thanks for sharing your experience! We love that you enjoyed the trip, we hope to see you again, there are still more destinations to discover
the trip covered everything it was supposed to, transportation was comfortable, it’s not a must see but it’s fun
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, we hope to see you again and show you the incredible places that Jalisco has!
My parents and I enjoyed the trip to Chapala and Ajijic. As we’re leaving Guadalajara, we had the opportunity to stop by Vicente Fernandez’s ranch. The ranch was closed at the time so we got to take a picture at the gates. On our way to Chapala, the tour guide answered all our questions about the area and taught us a bit about Chapala’s history. Once we got to Chapala, the tour guide let us walk around and shop at the boardwalk. There’s a lot of artworks that you can take pictures at and plenty of shops to take a look at. Next, we went to Ajijic where the tour guide brought us around town and taught us a bit about Ajijic’s history. Afterwards, we got to eat at a mariscos restaurant. The tour was a good opportunity to get some information about the areas we were visiting and safe transportation. The one thing that was misleading was that you don’t stop at Antigua Estacion De Ferrocarril.
Thank you for your comments! We are glad to know that you enjoyed the tour! there is much to visit, we hope to see you soon
Verinice was a charming guide. She answered all of our questions expertly. Gilberto was an amazing driver on the narrow streets of Ajijic. The personal attention and flexibility were great as well as the door to door transportation to Hotel Dalí.
We love to know that you had an amazing time! Thanks for sharing your experience!
Great time visiting Lake Chapala on our half day tour. Our tour guide Bernice was very knowledgeable and interested in history of the people and the architecture of the buildings that’s surround the lake. That made the tour that much better. She was well spoken and took the time to answer any of our questions We enjoyed having lunch in the town of Chapala and walking through the quaint and relaxing streets of Ajijic. It was also very cool to be able to stop by and visit the ranch of the famous Mexican singer Vicente Fernández. I’ve been listening to his music since I was a kid.
This was a last minute trip, but I am glad we did it. We were picked up at our hotel in a mini bus. Just 8 of us. Visited the largest cowboy store in Mexico. Huge stock. A tequila factory, which was u fortunately all in Spanish, but we were able to go through the manufacturing process, see the storage barrels and taste about a dozen different tequilas. Then we drove to a restaurant close to Jocotopec right on the lake. Excellent seafood and a 15 minute boat trip thrown in. Wandered around the variety of stalls in Chapala and were picked up again for the trip home. A good day. Thank you
