Review for Stone Town Walking Tour: Not my type of walking tour. Friendly but focuses too much on the flaws of the Tanzanian government. Mainly focused on pointing out all the unrestored buildings vs top sights. Advertised short tour was an 1.5 hour and it was actually over 2.5 hours (and that was with asking to stop). Way too long for the mundane details; I was getting bored . Additionally I didn’t appreciate the assumptions he made about various countries, like my own, without ever being there. He kept wanting to point out every single thing in Zanzibar which is not realistic and didn’t get the social cues to stop. He then proceeded to try to sell me more tours (clearly didn’t get the social cues that I was very annoyed). After I requested for the tour to stop, he then proceeded to ask when my review would go in. Hee was more interested in reviews then anything … not even money shockingly. Learned a few things but if I would have known I would have went solo and just focused on a few sights. I personally did not enjoy this tour but perhaps others would find it helpful. 3 stars at best.
