We had an absolutely perfect day with our guide, Mario. We arrived via cruise ship and he met us right as we exited the ship. First we stopped to see the volcanic activity near a beautiful lake. Then we visited the most amazing gardens and had a wonderful time relaxing in the beautiful hot springs. Afterward, he took us for an amazing lunch where we enjoyed a traditional stew cooked in a volcanic pit. We also visited a tea factory which was a truly unique experience. If you have the chance to do this tour, we couldn’t recommend Mario and the day we spent with him more highly!
I was on a cruise and had one day for the tour. I wanted to visit the Hot Springs and this was a perfect tour. Also came with good food, personal customization and great storytelling. Highly recommended.
We stopped at Ponta Delgada on a transatlantic cruise with Celebrity. We wanted to swim in the hot springs, and all the ship's tours just stopped to look at them. So we booked a day tour with Jorge and got to do it all. We swam in the springs (bring your towel and suit - they have showers and changing rooms at the "pool"). We toured the amazingly beautiful garden. We stopped at the tea plantation and sampled the product. We drank spring water as it came out of the ground. Plus an amazing lunch at a local restaurant. Jorge was a great guide - informative, funny, easy to get along with. I'd highly recommend booking this for the day. He can take 8 people in the van.
