We showed up early to the stables, but the owner and workers were very helpful and talkative, they gave us a lot of information on the horses and just had an enjoyable time talking with us about their horses and what they do there.
The horses were lovely and very well looked after, so my complaint is nothing to do with that. Unfortunately the place seemed quite badly organised. For the first half hour of being there, there were no staff around and it was very unclear on where we should go. When staff did turn up they didn’t seem to be aware of my booking. But eventually we were able to groom a horse. The horse was again lovely and well cared for but was calling out to her friends (naturally!). I have a horse so was safe, but staff came away from the horse regularly and because she was calling for the other horses, kept moving around. Again, I don’t have a problem with the horse, she was just being a horse. But I’m unsure as to why staff left us alone with a horse we didn’t know. The horse moved around so much that my Nana felt unsafe and stepped back to leave me to groom her. I wasn’t able to enjoy my experience because with no staff being there, I had to make sure we were both safe. The quick ten minute ride was good and for someone wanting a horse experience, it’s the right thing for you. But again the horse was quite green and didn’t like being out alone. Looking back at the photos he seems a little bum high so may be young.
I apologize that your experience with Hug a Finnhorse moment was not pleasant. We are a small family business, so the guide arrives at the office at the start of the tour to meet the clients. As I already apologized on site, the waiting room was occupied by a group that did not have a reservation at all. The horse that you brushed is highly trained and very gentle and generally very calm. Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to assess in retrospect what has caused it to behave uneasily, because our guide did not mention anything about this, at least not when asked afterwards. This experience has been very popular among young children, for whom it is specifically aimed. The horse in question does these relaxing care moments and short rides because it is waiting for a foal and thus it gets light exercise and a lot of affection and attention. I apologize once again that we were unable to provide you with the service you expected this time.
Absolutely amazing experience would highly recommend our family of four had an amazing time lovely family run business
