Tour a Caballo por el Volcán Arenal

Injury Alert! Their horse went crazy in the stable and threw me off to the ground. I suffered severe rope burns. The company will not issue any refund. This is not to mention that they picked us up 30 minutes late, and the guide did not interact with us and keep the tour fun during the ride. He stayed in the back the whole time chatting with another group.

It was a great experience! Tour guides were excellent. And horses were well behaved for all experience levels. We were able to trot and run which my daughter loved!

This was honestly a very disappointing and unsafe experience. I would strongly advise others to be careful when booking this horseback riding tour. During the ride, the horse I was on actually fell, which was already concerning and scary. Then, near the end of the tour, another horse bit me on the knee. At that point, what should have been an enjoyable experience turned into something stressful and painful. What made this even worse was the response from the staff. When I brought it up, the lady at the front desk dismissed it by saying that it’s “a risk people take” when booking the tour. That lack of concern and accountability was incredibly frustrating. Overall, I left feeling not only disappointed but also unsafe and unheard. I would not recommend this tour to others.

We really enjoyed this experience despite rain. We hadn’t expected the presentation on local indígenas culture and enjoyed it. The guides were great and the trail beautiful.

The cowboys did a fabulous job making everyone feel super happy and safe. The horses are very well trained and reliable. What a fun experience to share with my family. We even saw a sloth! We did the river trail ride and its was perfect! Would highly recommend!!

I could not recommend this tour enough. If you love horses or just want a fun ride this is the place. We had route options to choose from due to the weather clouding the view of the volcano, so our group took a trip to the river instead. Carlos and his crew took great care of all the riders and were so patient with the less experienced ones. Running with the horses through the jungle had to be the highlight of my whole trip to Costa Rica.

This was great. We ended up doing the river tour, rather than the volcano tour. The horses were well trained (it was my first time riding and I was nervous) tour guides Miguel and Victor were very calming, humorous, informational, and attentive. The whole experience was very fun. We were given time to gallop on the horses throughout. Jungle and river was beautiful. Highly recommend!!

Jorge and Carlos were wonderful guides…for our fairly large group. Horses calm and easy even for beginners. Riding into river was really neat.. loved this experience!

Such a great day! This was one of my family’s favorite experiences of our trip. We could not have had a more fun time! All the guides were so great and all knowledgeable about horses. Victor went our of his way to help my daughter who was scared and rode with her the entire trip. I could not have been more grateful. Highly recommend! And! The horses were well taken care of!

I was honestly very nervous about horseback riding, but our tour guide was incredibly kind, patient, and reassuring the entire time. He made sure I felt comfortable and safe, and even when I was scared, he checked in and helped guide me through every part of the ride. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience on our honeymoon. The views were beautiful, the horses were well cared for, and the guide made all the difference. Highly recommend!
