El santuario Togakushi es un santuario histórico sintoísta ubicado en las montañas al noroeste de la ciudad de Nagano. Had a great time, worth the walk, but be prepared to walk at least 2klm mostly uphill to get to the shrine. Great ice cream at the bottom. Had a great guide Shuhei. Took us to this amazing restaurant after.
A great trip to visit the shrine and learn about local customs and history. A great stop at a local soba noodle restaurant.
We had a great experience with Dave. He recommended a wonderful restaurant for lunch and was excellent company.
Beautiful scenery. Quiet surroundings. Chris is pationate about the area and took us to delicious soba place.
Dave is a not only a great tour guide but also a nice person, who offers lots of useful insights and informations about the environment. He picked me up quite far away from the location we were heading to, which was not only very convenient for me, but it was also perfect to ask him anything. Unfortunately we couldn't go all the way up to the shrine, since it was closed this time (late winter). If you are into nature though it really doesn't matter, because everything you get to see up to this point, combined with the conversations is already enough. If you want to stop for a look, take some photos or have any input, where to go, Dave is open to make a quick stop or discuss options. All in all an nice experience in my case.
I can't recommend this tour highly enough. My brother and I visited Togakushi with Dai as our tour guide. Dai took all of the stress out of the day. He drove smoothly on the curvy roads (which was very nice because we are prone to motion sickness) and completely tailored our experience to our interests. Unfortunately the cedar path was closed when we visited, but Dai took a lot of great photos in the beautiful natural scenery and took us to an additional scenic viewpoint. He also took us to a restaurant that served the best soba I've had in my LIFE, and we had a fun time chatting with him about the area. Book this tour immediately. It was the highlight of our stay! Thanks Dai!
Highly recommend this tour. Our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The path to the inner shrine that is lined with cedar trees is currently closed, but although you can’t walk it you can still get a great view and pictures minus all the people in shot. The soba lunch is also highly recommended. Thank you for a great day.
Booked this experience last minute and so glad I did. The local travel company, Omotenashi Travel, were faultless . Punctual, knowledgeable, flexible, and professional. Highly recommend !
I can’t recommend enough the Togakushi Shrine Private tour with Chris. Not only was he very knowledgeable about the history of the shrines and the area, he also took excellent and candid photos as memories of the day. Chris also took us to an excellent soba restaurant for lunch which was well worth the lunch time stop. Rather than getting the bus up the mountain I recommend letting Chris take the stress out of the day.
