Una excursión de un día desde Atenas para ver las Termópilas y Delfos es una experiencia inolvidable. Este tour de un día completo comienza conduciendo hacia el norte desde Atenas, llegamos a las Termópilas, el paso histórico de las Termópilas donde tuvo lugar la batalla entre los persas y los espartanos. Nuestra próxima parada será el sitio sagrado de Delfos con su Templo de Apolo. Delphi es un sitio arqueológico reconocido por la UNESCO que se encuentra entre los lugares más emblemáticos de Grecia. Sigue los pasos de los antiguos héroes por el campo de Grecia en una aventura que te llevará al corazón de este país europeo.

Recogida en Atenas y unas dos horas y media en coche para llegar a nuestra primera parada.
Leonidas era un rey de la ciudad-estado griega de Esparta, y el 17 de la línea Agiad, una dinastía que afirmaba descender del semidiós mitológico Heracles y Cadmo. Leonidas era hijo del rey Anaxandridas II. Sucedió a su medio hermano, el rey Cleómenes I, en el trono en el 489 a. Leonidas tuvo una participación notable en la Segunda Guerra Persa, donde llevó a las fuerzas griegas aliadas a una última posición en la Batalla de las Termópilas (480 a. C.) mientras intentaba defender el paso del ejército persa invasor; murió en la batalla y entró en el mito como líder de los 300 espartanos. Si bien los griegos perdieron esta batalla, pudieron expulsar a los invasores persas al año siguiente.
Junto al monumento de Leónidas, en las históricas Termópilas, se encuentra el innovador museo del municipio de Lamia, dedicado a la batalla del 480 a. C. que cambió el curso de la historia griega.
La Batalla de las Termópilas se libró entre una alianza de ciudades-estado de la Antigua Grecia, dirigida por el rey Leónidas I de Esparta, y el Imperio aqueménida de Jerjes I. Se libró en el 480 a. C. en el transcurso de tres días, durante la segunda invasión persa. de Grecia

El Tholos de Delfos se encuentra entre las estructuras antiguas del Santuario de Atenea Pronaia en Delfos. El templo circular, un tholos, comparte el sitio inmediato con otros cimientos antiguos del Templo de Atenea Pronaia, todos ubicados a menos de una milla al este de las ruinas principales de Delfos, en la moderna unidad regional griega de Fócida. El tholos es parte del Patrimonio de la Humanidad de la UNESCO de Delphi.
El Museo Arqueológico de Delfos es uno de los principales museos de Grecia y uno de los más visitados. Es operado por el Ministerio de Cultura griego. Fundado en 1903, se ha reorganizado varias veces y alberga los descubrimientos realizados en el santuario panhelénico de Delfos, que data del período heládico tardío (micénico) hasta la era bizantina temprana. Organizado en catorce salas en dos niveles, el museo exhibe principalmente estatuas, incluido el famoso Auriga de Delfos, elementos arquitectónicos, como el friso del Tesoro de Siphnian, y exvotos dedicados al santuario de Pythian Apollo, como la Esfinge de Naxos.
El Templo de Apolo, dios de la música, la armonía, la luz, la curación y los oráculos ocupaba la posición más importante y destacada del Santuario Panhelénico de Delfos. El edificio con la columnata parcialmente restaurada visible hoy data del siglo XX aC y, según relatos antiguos, se construyeron cinco templos diferentes a lo largo de la historia. El famoso oráculo, la Pythia, operaba dentro del templo, el lugar elegido, según una tradición, debido a un abismo sagrado debajo del sitio que emitía vapores, que eran inhalados por la Pythia.

Fantastic guide. We took our 11 year old and 16 year old. Our 11 year old was getting motion sickness on way and he pulled over and was very kind. We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at a restaurant selected by our guide. Highly recommend this tour.

This was an amazing experience and Chris was an extraordinary guide. The personalized trip was what made it so amazing. He had so much history and knowledge that we talked the whole trip. Chris was truly wonderful. He was a great driver with lots of great insights and Greek knowledge. I loved this trip and would do it again. The car was comfortable and clean. The sites were amazing. He stopped several times for us to take pictures. We ate lunch in the town of Delphi in a small local restaurant with delicious food. It was truly an unforgettable experience. It was a beautiful and very significant and perfect day for us. The first stop was the Thermopylae, which was very emotional for my husband and me. If one is interested in Greek history, the Thermopylae and the King Leonidas monument are simply a must-see. Unfortunately, the historical significance is often portrayed as less important to the uninformed, which is not the case at all. Therefore, it was all the more important for us that when we traveled to Delphi, the Thermopylae were a must. After that, we went to the museum in Delphi. It was truly indescribable and very, very interesting. It is definitely worth a visit. Following the visit to the museum, one can view the temple ruins. Our driver Chris was very friendly, helpful, and drove us safely and comfortably. We felt completely comfortable and very safe. For that, we extend our heartfelt thanks once again. We can highly recommend everything.

Nikos was a great guide! Safe and efficient driver, gave us lots of great info to learn on the trip. Thermopylae is a short stop- and that’s all it needs to be.
