I've done five City Shuffles tours because it's the best deal I've found. I paid $9 for a filling meal of steaming veggie dumplings, pizza, and a coconut bun. And then paid whatever I wanted for the actual time with the guide, Jon. I've done a lot of tourism, and this is my favorite way to see the sites.
My family of 6 had a great tour! There was just enough history and stories sprinkled in so even my most squirmy child enjoyed it and learned something. It was an insanely hot day, but our tour guide popped us into some air conditioning along the way, which was so appreciated. The samples are delicious and filling, and we left with a real appreciation for this part of the city.
Jon was an incredible guide around China town and little Italy! He’s got everything covered in this tour. He was incredibly organized and thoughtful. The entire tour was very well thought out, from the information he shared about the history to thinking about the types of food to offer and at what points on the tour. It was absolutely fantastic and could not recommend going on this tour more. The dumplings he showed us were soooooo delicious!!!!!
A good mixture of tasty food and stories about the regional history. Super affordable! The guide, Jon, has a great sense of humor.
Amazing tour with an even more amazing local tour guide and great storytelling. It’s worth it! He gave us a lot of insight about the local neighbourhoods and a lot of interesting and fun facts. The food which we got was in a fair relation of value to price.
Jon was a great tour guide. So much great knowledge to share. Fantastic food - the picks were amazing. Tip: Book direct through the company CityShuffles - massive markup through here and it was too late for us - could have saved $30 per person (5 of us)
Jon was fantastic. Really enthusiastic and tried some amazing food whilst learning loads of interesting facts about little Italy and Chinatown and it's history. Would definitely recommend. We were vegetarian and he accommodated us fantastically.
We did a food walking tour through Chinatown and Little Italy with Jon, and it was the best start to our trip we could have wished for. Even though it was just the two of us, Jon took so much time, made everything very personal and created such a relaxed atmosphere. He not only brought us to the most authentic and delicious food spots, he used the food to tell the story of the city itself. Jon knows New York’s history exceptionally well, and the way he connected it to each stop made the experience truly meaningful. He also gave us great recommendations for the rest of our stay and even took beautiful photos of us without us even asking, with a great eye for detail. It honestly felt less like a tour and more like exploring the city with a good friend who knows all the local gems. Thank you, Jon, for an unforgettable experience.
This was my 3rd tour with Jon & he goes above and beyond to curate a memorable tour combining history, pop culture and amazing food. The tastings are generous and you get to experience more than a full meal for less than $15. Being able to sample bites across multiple venues is something that would be hard to replicate on your own. The experience is far more intimate and personal with independent tourism. I highly recommend!
We had an incredible time touring Chinatown and Little Italy with Jon! He’s a true NYC expert and made the experience fun, informative, and absolutely delicious. We tried pork dumplings, buns, Malaysian beef jerky, bubble tea, pizza, and amazing chocolate chip cannolis. Every stop was better than the last! Jon’s knowledge of the city’s history and food scene is unmatched — we learned so much while eating our way through two iconic neighborhoods. Highly recommend this tour and Jon as your guide!
