El templo Ramappa, también conocido como el templo Rudreshwara, es un templo hindú de estilo kakatiya dedicado al dios hindú Shiva,. Una inscripción en el templo dice que fue construido en el año 1213 d.C. por Recharla Rudra Reddy, un general del gobernante kakatiya Ganapati Deva (r. 1199–1262). Ubicado en las cercanías del lago Ramappa, el complejo del templo Ramappa que consta de tres templos fue construido entre 1212 y 1234, diseñado y arquitecto por Ramappa — en honor a quien el complejo del templo lleva su nombre. Marco Polo, durante su visita al imperio Kakatiya, supuestamente llamó al templo "la estrella más brillante de la galaxia de los templos". El templo Ramappa se encuentra sobre una plataforma en forma de estrella de 1,8 m de altura. Templo de los Mil Pilares El lugar más popular para visitar en Warangal es el Templo de los Mil Pilares, ubicado en la base de la colina Hanamkonda. Fue construido en el siglo XII por el rey Kakatiya Rudra Deva. Dedicado principalmente al Señor Shiva, este templo también es conocido por el nombre de Sri Rudreshwara Swamy Temple. En este templo, tres deidades: el Señor Shiva, el Señor Vishnu y el Señor Surya son adorados. Se les conoce como Trikutalayam. Hay tres santuarios, uno para cada deidad. Actualmente bajo el mantenimiento del Estudio Arqueológico de la India restauraron hermosamente parte del área de Mandapam, el Templo de los Mil Pilares es conocido por pilares intrincadamente tallados. El fuerte Warangal, que data del siglo XIII, deriva su nombre de la palabra telugu Orugallu – ‘Oru’ que significa uno y la palabra ‘gallu’ que significa piedra. Wonderful experience learning about the Kakatiyas. Visited the Ramappa temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple carries a lot of history and I learnt so much thanks to my guide. It was an experience like no other. Takes one way back to the 12th century when the temple was built. This UNESCO monument is a must visit. You’ll go home more knowledgeable than you left 🤭 I also had the opportunity to visit The Thousand Pillar Temple which is dedicated to three deities namely Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya. Being a person who is open to learning and understanding other religions, this excursion meant a lot to me. Our last stop was the Warangal Fort which served as capital of the great Kakatiya rulers. Come with an open mind to learn a lot of history. I can’t miss to appreciate my guide Mr. Sainath the historian 🤭 This man understands his craft and is so passionate about it. He loves what he does and he is so calm, accommodating, deep and his customer service is tops. He makes understanding the history of the Kakatiyas so easy. I would highly recommend him for this excursion. This was one guided excursion I would repeat again thanks to the organizers and a very competent guide. 100% recommend.

We had an amazing trip to see these 3 temples of different eras. Incredibly interesting and even more special as we got blessings at each temple. Srinu was a brilliant guide and knowledgeable host and there was no question too stupid from us!! We also had a wonderful veg Thalia in Warangal. It is a long drive but worth it and you escape the craziness oh Hyderabad. Tip - wear flip flops as easy for temples and especially if it rains. If it is during Rainey season wear shorts and raincoat as you can get saturated and long trousers wet aren’t comfortable for a long day. Great day trip!

Fantastic day, early start at 6.30am but well worth getting up early for. Beautiful scenery along the way, and the Temples of Kakatiya were breathtaking.Such a peaceful place, my guide Srinu was full of knowledge about everything, very interesting to learn from.
