Itinerario: 8:30 am - recojo del hotel para visitar el Templo Doi Suthep, el templo más famoso del norte en la cima de la colina. Wat Pra That Doi Suthep, que contiene un reflujo sagrado de Buda y se alcanza con 306 escalones, flanqueado por la mítica balaustrada de Nagas a cada lado, las vistas panorámicas de la ciudad desde el suelo del templo son realmente espectaculares en un día despejado.
10:30 am -Wat Jed Yod, el Wat Ched Yod es un atractivo complejo de templos Lanna en las afueras de Chiang Mai que contiene una arquitectura muy singular. El templo que también se conoce como Wat Chet Yod y Wat Photharam Maha Vihara es un templo real que data del siglo XV. Su estilo arquitectónico muestra la influencia de Lanna, Rattanakosin, Lao, China e India. El templo fue construido durante el reinado del Rey Tilokkarat, Rey del Reino Lanna desde 1441 hasta 1487. Las cenizas de los Reyes están consagradas en un chedi en los terrenos del templo.
11:30 am - Wat Suan Dok, ubicado justo al oeste de la parte amurallada de Chiang Mai, es un templo muy antiguo conocido por su gran cantidad de chedis o pagodas blancas. Wat Suan Dok significa literalmente templo de jardín de flores. El templo deriva su nombre del lugar donde fue construido. El área del templo fue utilizado una vez como jardines de flores reales por el gobernante de Chiang Mai. Las características más notables del Wat Suan Dok es la gran cantidad de chedis. El chedi dorado más alto en estilo de Sri Lanka tiene 48 metros de altura y contiene la reliquia del Buda. Una gran cantidad de chedis blancos más pequeños contienen las cenizas de miembros de varias generaciones de la familia real de Chiang Mai. Las cenizas fueron traídas aquí desde varios lugares en Chiangmai, según lo solicitado por la princesa Dara Rashmi a principios del siglo XX. En 1477, el 8º Consejo Budista Mundial se celebró aquí para discutir los textos de Tripitaka, las escrituras que contienen las enseñanzas budistas.

14: 00- Wat Chedi Luang, sus características más destacadas es el enorme y muy impresionante chedi (pagoda) que domina el área. El rey Sean Muang Ma ordenó al chedi que guardara las cenizas de su padre. La construcción comenzó en 1391 y dura casi un siglo. cuando el chedi fue finalmente acabado en 1475 durante el reinado del rey Tilokarat, había alcanzado una altura de unos 85 metros y un ancho de 44 metros, lo que lo hizo con diferencia
15:00 pm - Wat Chiang Man, es el templo más antiguo de Chiang Mai y se remonta a la fundación de la ciudad en 1296. Cuando el rey Mengrai decidió construir una nueva ciudad y convertirla en la nueva capital del Reino Lanna, construyó el Wat Chiang Man como el primer templo de la nueva ciudad en el sitio que utilizó para supervisar la construcción de Chiang Mai. Kong La gave us one of the most unforgettable days of our entire Thailand trip. From the moment he picked us up, everything felt thoughtful, unhurried, and deeply personal. He took us up into the hills to visit the Long Neck Karen village in a way that felt respectful and authentic - not rushed, not performative, but genuinely educational and human. We learned so much, and it never felt like a “tour stop,” but a meaningful experience. From there, we wound through the mountains to the tea plantation, where the views were absolutely breathtaking. Kong La knew exactly where to go, when to go, and gave us the space to take it all in while sharing the history and culture behind what we were seeing. It felt like traveling with a local friend who loves his home and wants you to love it too. And then ASA Farmstay… the highlight of highlights. Arriving there felt like stepping into another world. Kong La didn’t just drop us off - he helped bridge the experience so we understood what made this place so special. Learning about cultivation, harvesting ingredients, and cooking traditional Thai food from scratch with the family was something we will talk about for the rest of our lives.

I did a day trip and ended up the only one, so I had a private tour! The sights were beautiful and she answered all of my questions and more. I appreciated her insight and context. She was flexible and asked me what I wanted to do, but we still saw everything on the itinerary. I can’t recommend her enough!
Every temple was beautiful in its own way the craftsmanship of both the architecture paintings and carvings were magnificent. We enjoyed the whole day thanks to our guide Yukki and driver Mr Bank

Definitly Recommend 4.5/5. Kongla did a great job taking us through Northern Thailand. The history of the Hill People, Tea Plantation, and Opium Museum are very informative.
Kongla was a great guide. He was very informative and was able to answer all of our questions concerning Thailand history and culture. The tour of the hill tribes was interesting but at the same time, it was a little disturbing as mentioned in the other reviews. The House of Opium was super cool. Even though it was small, it provided a lot of good information. It was also neat to see three countries at once at the Golden Triangle. I would definitely recommend this tour if you have extra time in Chiang Rai.
