One of the highlights of our family London trip! The production was mesmerizing, and made me emotional at different points of the musical. Worth every pound spent- such art should be celebrated. The Lyceum Theatre is a gorgeous place as well.
Sensational. The most amazing production i have seen. I was tearing up almost the whole time, the songs are so powerful. The set design was simple yet impactful and the costumes amazing! Definitely recomended booking in the stalls as the characters come out into the audience. Lots of kids school trips but they behaved better than the adults in the audience! Only niggle - stop selling popcorn!!! The constant rustle and crunch! Drives me potty. 100% will be back to see it again!
Yesterday I went to see the Lion King musical at the Lyceum Theatre in London and it was an incredible experience. Anyone who hasn't been to a musical in London is like someone who hasn't been there. It's a truly fantastic spectacle and I recommend it to everyone!!!
Amazing show for all ages. The performers are spectacular and the theatre is absolutely gorgeous, highly recommend!
Magnificent! What an absolute masterpiece. The cast was spectacular. Once you've seen it you'll immediately want to go again. Staff at the lyceum were all so lovely. Just a fantastic evening.
This was our first show and we absolutely loved it. I was skeptical that my 11 year old son would like it. He loved it and asked if/when we'd see another show.
The energy in the theater is palpable from the moment the house lights dim. Being that close, you don’t just hear the music; you feel the vibrations of the African drumming in your chest. The sheer scale of the production is overwhelming in the best way possible, especially during the "Circle of Life" opening when the animals emerge from the aisles right past you. At just two rows from the front, the view is nothing short of breathtaking. While you might have to look up slightly to take in the tallest giraffes, the tradeoff is an intimate look at the intricate detail of Julie Taymor’s legendary costumes. You can see the hand-painted patterns on the fabrics, the mechanical inner workings of the puppets, and—most importantly—the raw emotion on the actors' faces that people further back might miss. The cast is a powerhouse of talent where every actor and dancer catches your eye. The Dancers: Their athleticism is stunning; from the graceful leaps of the gazelles to the fluid, powerful movements of the lionesses, the choreography feels alive. The Leads: Whether it’s the commanding presence of Mufasa or the comedic timing of Timon and Pumbaa, the performances are incredibly polished. The Ensemble: Even the ensemble members playing plants or birds bring a level of focus that makes the Serengeti feel like a living, breathing entity. It is a rare experience to be so close to such a massive production, making every roar and every note feel like it was performed just for you.
This is the second time we have seen the lion king and it was just as outstanding. The whole show is an overload for the senses and we loved every single second. The price for a show of this calibre was exceptional and we also added the Ambassador Lounge which was well worth it for convenience and it just added to the experience. The staff were amazing. How the cast perform this night after night amazes me. They were polished and on point t at all times. We are returning again soon for a family event and I know it will not lack in expectation. Thank you so much cast and crew for an incredible evening ❤️
Loved every part, the acting/dancing/costumes/music were all very good. I could see and hear everything very clearly. Pricey but worth it for a special treat.
The staff were all very friendly, theatre was clean & well organised. Show was superb, my 1st time going to the theatre but definitely won't be the last. Some really funny parts in the show, all actors/actresses were excellent. Good value & had a great time.
