La Plaza de la Libertad, antes conocida como Erivansky o Paskevich-Erivansky bajo la Rusia Imperial y la Plaza Beria y la Plaza Lenin bajo la Unión Soviética, está ubicada en el centro de Tbilisi en el extremo este de la Avenida Rustaveli.
Parte antigua de la ciudad
La Basílica Anchiskhati de Santa María es la iglesia más antigua de Tbilisi, Georgia. Pertenece a la Iglesia ortodoxa georgiana y data del siglo VI.
Una de las atracciones más nuevas de Tbilisi, el Puente de la Paz, que se inauguró en 2010 sobre el río Mtkvari (también conocido como el río Kura).
Un monumento al destacado poeta y músico armenio y famoso ashugh Sayat - Nova (Harutyun Sayadian) se abrió en Tbilisi el 7 de junio de 2009. La escultura de Guya Djaparidze y Kokha Koridze está situada cerca del muro norte de la iglesia armenia de St. Kevork. En la misma iglesia, Sayat - Nova, junto con otros cristianos, se escondía durante el ataque del shah Aga Mohamed Kadjar en 1795. My trip in this experience was with Mr. Koba. We did meet in the time and the place with no delay. Our journey was beyond exceptional. It was solo, but I felt that I was with a friend rather than a guide. You will walk an amazing journey with rich history of Georgia and tiblisi specifically. My first day in Tblisi was a cold rainy day, but I was fortunate enough to have the best tour guide. Khatuna was there to pick me up and take me on two tours back to back (this one and the Brutalist Architecture Tour). She was able to point out all the highlights and made the two tours most enjoyable under extremely trying circumstances. Our tour guide, Aleksi, was really patient with us. Traveling with a toddler has its’perks’ but he made us feel at ease when she started getting a little fussy. He took us round old and new Tbilisi, with very detailed knowledge of iconic heritage. He was very helpful with wadding off the very many goods sellers wanting to sell to tourists. He helped negotiate price as well which I found very admirable considering they spoke same language and from same place. Overall, a wonderful experience. Would highly recommend this to first timers in Tbilisi.
