We enjoyed the visits to the Unesco villages so much. Our friendly guide Harry is very enthousiastic and knows a lot about the history and culture. He is the best!
We went on a private tour today with Harry. It was very nice, good information. Really recommend to go on a tour with Harry.
Harry was an exceptional guide! This was one of the highlights of our trip. The villages were absolutely beautiful, the scenery was breathtaking, and the entire region was stunning. Harry’s explanations were clear, insightful, and incredibly interesting. He shared the history, culture, and traditions of the area in such an engaging way that it truly felt like taking a journey through Japanese history. Thank you, Harry, for making this experience so memorable. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area!
I want there with my friends and we were the only three on this explore tour. Harry the guide was so nice and explained everything, really interesting and the places was so beautiful and different from all the others city that we had visited in Japan. Definitely recommend
We visit the most beautiful historic villages there, from the smallest to the largest and famous Shirakawa, because it is interesting to see more than just this historic village. Harry, our guide, was extremely attentive to us and passionate about the subject. Thank you for having us take this very pleasant tour.
A truly amazing day to learn about Japanese history and culture. Harry was our guide and as a former teacher he was excellent in explaining and answering all of our questions not only about our tour but also gave us tips about the other cities we are planning to visit. We stopped at all three villages. I’m so grateful we found this tour Ken/Dana Salt Lake City Utah
An absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. We had the chance to explore the villages at a relaxed pace and really immerse ourselves in the local culture — something that’s hard to find on your own. Our guide Harry was exceptional: knowledgeable, warm, and genuinely happy to answer every question we had, no matter how many times we asked. He made the whole visit feel personal and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to go beyond the tourist surface and truly connect with a place.
Our tour with Harry was truly wonderful. He explained everything with great detail and answered all of our questions (and there were many!) He made a full day feel like just a couple of hours. He also shared plenty of recommendations for the rest of our stay in the area, which turned out to be really helpful. We highly recommend this tour! Thank you, Harry!

Hemi was a friendly and knowledgeable guide. We were very fortunate to have him give us additional information on each village. Our favorite village was Ainokura. It was smaller, less crowded and the traditional paper making experience was fun. Shirakawa-go was amazing and did not disappoint. The only drawback was the large group of 14. When we booked the tour, it was supposed to be only 5 persons. So instead of enjoying a nice lunch, we picked up lunch at Lawsons and ate en route to the next village, Suganuma.
