Thank you so much for this wonderful review! What I love most is that you didn’t just remember just the food: you remembered the places and the stories. To me, that’s what Turin truly is: a city best understood one bite, one conversation, and one hidden corner at a time. As a chef, I could simply introduce local specialties. But my real goal is to help guests discover why they exist, how they became part of the city’s identity, and why the people of Turin are so proud of them. The food is, of course, the reason we meet, but the real magic comes from the people who make it. Many of the artisans, chefs, bakers, wine specialists, and family-run businesses we visit are people I’ve known professionally or personally for years. Those relationships allow us to open doors, share stories, and experience Turin’s food culture in a way that goes far beyond simply tasting what’s on the plate. I’m also delighted that the vegetarian options were appreciated. One of the great misconceptions about Piedmont is that it is only a destination for meat lovers. In reality, many of the region’s most beloved traditions celebrate vegetables, cheeses, breads and seasonal ingredients. Finding the right balance so everyone can enjoy the experience is an important part of what we do. One of the biggest challenges when visiting a new city is knowing where locals actually eat. The restaurants on the main squares are easy to find. The small family-run businesses tucked away in side streets, hidden courtyards, historic markets, and neighborhood corners are often a different story. Those are the places I love sharing. Turin has one of the richest culinary traditions in Italy, but it is also a city that doesn’t show off. Many of its best food experiences are hidden in plain sight, waiting for curious travelers willing to step just a little off the beaten path. I’m delighted that you enjoyed the market as well. For me, markets are the heartbeat of a city. They tell the story of the seasons, the local producers, the daily rituals, and the ingredients that shape an entire region’s cuisine.
