Interesting and fun tour of Stonehenge, Wood Henge and other Henges. Lots of scenery and great information about the history of the area and how they are related to each other. Steve, our guide, was friendly and never in a rush. We would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Salisbury and surrounding areas.
Although we were the only participants on the tour that day, the guides were very helpful and had no problem. For the most part, it was a fun tour. There were times when I just wished I had a bit more historical knowledge (sometimes I wondered if we knew more about the ruins than the guides).
An excellent tour. Steve was a great and funny guide. It was a dream come true. He really loves what he does. I really recommend him.
Always nice to have a kind review about our team and the fact they continue to give a 5 star tour on every occasion.
Steve was a great tour guide and driver. He listened really well to what I was interested in seeing and what I had energy for. He had interesting stories and tailored the trip to my interests. He checked in often. Avebury and Stonehenge were amazing. Well worth seeing. (Stonehenge visitor’s center has changed a lot since I was here in the 1980s.) I really liked Avebury because I hadn’t seen it before, it wasn’t crowded with tourists, and you can get up close to the stones.
We had the most wonderful time on our tour! Mark was an excellent driver and guide for the day. We really enjoyed his personality and all the information he shared. His vehicle was clean and comfortable, and he maneuvered it well on those narrow roads! Kennet Long Barrow was the first spot we visited, and it was great going there early because we got to explore inside the barrow with no one else around, though we managed to spook ourselves with a barn swallow flying out toward us in the darkness. Avebury was next, and it was especially lovely and definitely the highlight of the trip. I honestly could have spent the entire day there. It was great getting to walk right up amongst the stones and touch them. I really appreciated Mark taking us there before Stonehenge so we could see the stark difference in the experience between the two locations. Stonehenge was… well, Stonehenge. We ended up not spending very much time there at all. I enjoyed all the rooks hanging around the area more than the stones themselves. The mead tasting in the gift shop was pretty nice of course. Old Sarum was our last stop. We were staying at a hotel in Salisbury for this trip so it was interesting walking through the ruins where the original city and cathedral had been. The views up there were spectacular. We even got to watch a few sets of skydivers enjoying the beautiful summer day up above us. We could not have asked for a better way to finish off our holiday in England and I would recommend this tour to anyone.
Thank you for that lovely review, it's always a pleasure to read a fantastic review showing we have one of the best tour operations in Salisbury.
Our guide, Ian, was outstanding! He made sure that we were able to see what was important to us and adjusted the itinerary when the weather turned bad. He is very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the sights we visited. He did not rush us through the stops and he took us to Porton Down where my husband had worked 20 years ago. He pointed out small points that would otherwise go unnoticed. Since he was local to the area, it was clear he excited to explain what we were seeing. We can not give a more positive review.
Thank you for that kind review always nice to hear that our Executive drivers are still the best at providing you with that special service.
Steve was a very good driver & guide-Tell him that the strange shapes left by "aliens" in Peru are the NAZCA LINES
Steve was absolutely the best. He tailored our tour based upon my schedule and our interests. His knowledge of the area and local celebrities was an added bonus. Knowing where the traffic was and using alternate back roads maximized our time sightseeing. Private guides can be pricey but being able to custom tailor your trip was worth it. He even stopped so i could pick up antihistamines as the rapeseed was in full bloom. If you have Steve as your guide, ask him about the animals that shouldn't be there and divining.
Thank you for the kind review it's always pleasing to hear that we have delivered a service that we guarantee. Steve has been doing tours for many years now and always gives you that extra bit to make it an enjoyable day for all.
This was the tour I had been waiting for and it did not let me down. Steve was a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable and personable. He had so much to say about Stonehenge and the other sites. We were so happy! Thank you, Steve! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is serious about Stonehenge and the nearby Neolithic ruins.
Our guide, Sebastiano was so pleasant and knowledgeable about the area and the sites we visited. And he shared his passion for Wiltshire with us. I had seen Stonehenge and Avebury before without a guide. It was wonderful to gain the extra insight from our tour guide.
