Stellenbosch, Franchoek Ciudad del Cabo Winelands Tour

We had the absolute pleasure of being driven around the beautiful vineyards of Cape Town, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From start to finish, our driver was incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating.

If you ever wanted a wine tour that comes with a great driver disguised as a tour guide, fun history class, stand up comedy, and a TED Talk you did not ask for but absolutely needed, book Anesu. We toured Delaire Graff, Babylonstoren, and Tokara in Stellenbosch. The drive from our hotel in Cape Town to the vineyards, was entertaining. By the time we reached the first vineyard I knew the geological history of the mountains, the neighborhoods by name, the political history of South Africa, current economic conditions, future projections, and probably the life story of the grapes themselves. I am fairly certain one Cabernet greeted him by name. To his credit, the commentary was fantastic. Not the boring memorize and repeat tour guide script. Real explanations about South Africa today, culture, people, and the good and complicated parts. We came for wine tasting and accidentally got educated. I didn't expect to get smarter on vacation. The wineries were stunning, the wines were excellent. My top pick is Delaire Graff. The food at the Delaire Graff restaurant was excellent. Gourmet cooking. Anesu says he also does all types of private tours across South Africa, but honestly, wine tours might be his favorite, unless we are his favorite guests, of all time, which after a full day of nonstop conversation, I am convinced he has already told someone else we are. We will absolutely book him again next visit. Looking forward to that already!

We had an amazing time on the Capelands Winery Tour! Our guide, Talent, was fantastic – so knowledgeable about Cape Town and South Africa, and he made the whole experience really enjoyable. The wines were excellent, and our meal at Rust en Vrede was outstanding – the steak was especially delicious. Overall, a truly memorable experience. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting!
