Comfortable, learned a lot, knowledge guide
There is no place outside the Casino to sit and wait to load the bus. For those that might have back problems. The ride is rather bumpy.
Very informative tour except it was difficult to, at times, understand what the driver was saying.
We like to take trips with our teenage grandkids to various cities so they get a feel for different areas of the country. When we visit a city, we try to create a mix of history & fun. We had never been to St. Louis so made it a quick two day trip that included the Gateway Arch and a Cardinals baseball game. We chose this trolly ride based on ratings of others and a desire to see more than just downtown. This trip hit that bar. My wife marveled at the architectural styles of the homes and the universities. Our grandsons made surprisingly positive comments about the park museums, (the site of the world's fair) and even wishing they could spend an extra day touring everything there (wait, did i say teenage boys actually had interest in visiting history and art museums?) Bottom line. The tour accomplished what I wanted which was to get some perspective. We had taken the Metro from the airport and were left with the impression that all people did was smoke pot in the downtown stations (Stadium & 8th and Pine). After the tour, we kept seeing buildings and skylines that we had experienced on the tour so that was a great reference point. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Drove well. I recommend this as a first day event if you are coming to the city for the first time.
The trolley was extremely hot and the air conditioners weren't effective at all. The driver was very knowledgeable but he appeared to be mumvl8ng or Mike wasn't effective very difficult to hear him in back of trolley. I did learn a lot of what I could hear. St Louis is a beautiful city.
Disappointed in the experience. Paid $30 each. The tour bus was incredibly hot, even with 2 AC units working. It was only 82 degrees that day too. The trolly sits you on benches with light padding. Probably around 30 people come with. Trolly tour lasted 90 minutes. Didn't show hardly anything. Most sights were well over 2 stories and were difficult to see out the window. Tour guide also pointed them out fairly late to get a good view. It was hard to hear the tour guide, even with his audio aid. Best for someone wanting to get a brief overview of the city as quickly as possible. Mostly just pointed out the main buildings and what year they were built. Not much else.
Overall, it was an average experience. The pickup and drop-off locations were easy to find, the bus arrived on time, and it was clean and nicely air-conditioned, which made the ride comfortable. The main downside was the narration. I felt the guide could have been better, as the audio was often muffled and difficult to hear, making it hard to follow and fully enjoy the tour.
We couldn’t understand a word our tour guide said which was really unfortunate because we wanted to learn about the city. It wasn’t the microphone, it was just the way he enunciated. We basically just paid for a $60 bus ride through the city which we could’ve done in our car for free.
Great experience the guide/trolley driver was great and informative really appreciate the knowledge he share about St Louis this will be on the top of my list when I return to St Louis thanks for the greatest experience
Great overview of historical sites and background information on several important citizens of St Louis. The narrator was knowledgeable and spoke very clearly and loud enough to understand him even if other passengers were rude enough to talk during his remarks. Overall very good tour and a big bonus was the A/C on a very hot day!!
