Glyfada, situada en la Riviera de Atenas, es un área suburbana ubicada en el sur de Atenas. Ocupa la parte sur del área urbana de Atenas, que se extiende desde la base de la montaña Hymettus hasta el golfo Sarónico. Tiene la distinción de ser el más grande entre los suburbios del sur de Atenas. Debido a su excepcional posición frente al mar, su bullicioso centro comercial y su distrito de negocios contemporáneo, Glyfada se ha convertido en el punto focal de los suburbios del sur de Atenas. El lago Vouliagmeni, situado al sur de Vouliagmeni, Grecia, es un pequeño lago de agua salobre. Se alimenta de corrientes subterráneas que atraviesan el monte Hymettus. La formación de esta laguna se remonta aproximadamente a 2.000 años cuando una gran caverna se derrumbó a consecuencia de un terremoto. Lo que hace que el lago sea verdaderamente notable son sus condiciones ambientales distintivas. El agua de mar cálida, que oscila entre los 28 y los 35 grados centígrados, ingresa al lago a través de un canal subterráneo que serpentea a través de una red de cuevas sumergidas. Como resultado, el lago mantiene una temperatura mínima de 18 grados centígrados (típicamente entre 21 y 24 grados centígrados). Además, el lago ha servido como balneario desde finales del siglo XIX. Más adentro de la montaña, existe una cueva submarina que se extiende profundamente, permaneciendo inexplorada en su totalidad. Incluso con el uso de la detección por sonar, rastrear el final de la cueva parece ser una tarea imposible.
Después de dar un paseo panorámico por la carretera costera, donde encontrará las impresionantes playas de Glyfada, Vouliagmeni y Varkiza, hasta llegar al punto más al sur de Attica, Cape Sunion. Aquí, serás recibido por la majestuosa vista del Templo de Poseidón con sus icónicos pilares de mármol blanco. En el camino, disfrute de las espléndidas vistas del golfo Sarónico y de las encantadoras islas pequeñas dispersas en la distancia. Una vez que haya explorado el Templo de Poseidón, tómese un tiempo para pasear por el promontorio rocoso de Sounion, saboreando el cautivador entorno.
