Descripción de la fachada y su historia.
La Abadía Saint-Ouen de Rouen es uno de los principales monumentos de la ciudad de Rouen; su iglesia abacial es un ejemplo completo de la arquitectura gótica normanda. La abadía está clasificada como monumento histórico en la lista de 1840.
El cementerio San Maclaou es una antigua fosa común que data del siglo XVI, ubicada en 186, calle de Martainville en Rouen, Francia. Constituye uno de los raros ejemplos de osario de este tipo que quedan en Europa. El cementerio San Maclaou está clasificado como monumento histórico en la lista de 1862.
El Gran Reloj es uno de los monumentos emblemáticos de la ciudad de Rouen. La construcción, adosada a un campanario, consta de un arco renacentista que cruza la calle del Gran Reloj rematado por un reloj astronómico del siglo XIV.
Fue en esta plaza, en plena Guerra de los Cien Años, donde Juana de Arco fue quemada viva el 30 de mayo de 1431. El lugar, tal como lo vio Juana de Arco, no se parecía a lo que es hoy. La plaza era más pequeña y su espacio estaba ocupado por la iglesia de Saint-Sauveur, la iglesia de Saint-Michel y por un gran mercado. También era el lugar habitual de ejecuciones. En el lugar de la pira se erigió una gran cruz. En el centro de la plaza se han limpiado los restos de la antigua iglesia de Saint-Sauveur. Es en esta modesta iglesia parroquial donde fue bautizado Pierre Corneille, su lugar de nacimiento, la calle de la Pie, hoy transformada en un museo situado cerca. Hoy es una animada plaza, alrededor de la cual hay restaurantes y bares.

We had a wonderful small-group walking tour of Rouen with Ludovic. His English was excellent, and he was joyful, enthusiastic, and so knowledgeable throughout the tour. He made the history of Rouen come alive while keeping everything fun and engaging. Ludovic made sure we had plenty of time to take photos at all the important spots, and he even offered to take pictures of us along the way. He asked questions, kept the group involved, and made the experience feel personal and memorable. This is the first thing everyone should do when they arrive in Rouen. It’s the perfect introduction to the city, and Ludovic was an outstanding guide!
This was a terrific guided walk of historical Rouen. Our guide was knowledgeable, engaging and had some great stories ( and quizzes) along the way. It was a very small group, which gave opportunity for asking questions. Most enjoyable!
More than two hours of informative, varied walks punctuated by small anachronistic moments, revealing the city in unique and original aspects. Ludovic's personality and energy contribute greatly to this experience. We were a group of 6 young seniors, and the moment was unique. Kudos to Ludovic. We recommend the visit and the guide!
