Retroceda en el tiempo en el Parque Arqueológico de Pompeya, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO y uno de los lugares más evocadores de la Tierra. Congelado en el tiempo por la erupción del monte Vesubio en el 79 d.C., este vasto sitio ofrece una ventana única a la antigua vida romana. Camine por calles notablemente conservadas, explore opulentas villas adornadas con vibrantes frescos y maravíllese con los majestuosos templos y teatros que una vez formaron el corazón de esta próspera ciudad.
Entra en la ciudad a través de Porta Marina, la más monumental de las siete puertas de Pompeya. Entra a través de esta antigua puerta de entrada, diseñada originalmente para los viajeros que llegan del mar, y explora con tu guía la impresionante estructura de doble arco que separaba a los peatones de los carruajes. Al pasar a través de estas enormes murallas de piedra, inmediatamente sentirás la grandeza del Imperio Romano que te da la bienvenida en las calles del pasado.
Entra en el Foro, el corazón monumental de la antigua Pompeya. Sigue los pasos de los ciudadanos romanos a través de esta amplia plaza, donde podrás admirar la silueta icónica del Monte Vesubio que se cierne a lo lejos, el lugar perfecto para capturar la esencia de esta ciudad helada.
El Macellum de Pompeya se encontraba en el Foro y como mercado de provisiones de Pompeya era uno de los puntos focales de la antigua ciudad. El edificio fue construido en varias fases. Cuando el terremoto del 62 CE destruyó grandes partes de Pompeya, el Macellum también resultó dañado.
Los Baños del Foro se encuentran detrás del Templo de Júpiter y se remontan a los años inmediatamente posteriores a la fundación de la colonia de veteranos por el general Silla (80 a. C.). Los cuartos de mujeres y hombres tenían entradas separadas. La sección masculina presenta un apoditerio (vestidor), utilizado también como tepidario (para baños de temperatura media), frigidarium (para baños fríos) y calidarium (para baños calientes). Al igual que muchos edificios en Pompeya, los baños sufrieron graves daños durante el terremoto de 62 d.C.
Dominado por el Vesubio con sus estatuas de Júpiter, Juno y Minerva, el templo era el Capitolium, similar al ubicado en la Antigua Roma. Las estatuas estaban muy bien situadas para ser visibles para los que pasaban por el Foro.
La Casa del Fauno (Casa del Fauno) es una de las residencias privadas más grandes y lujosas de Pompeya, ocupando toda una manzana de la ciudad. Nombrada en honor a la icónica estatua de bronce de un fauno danzante que se encuentra en su atrio principal, la casa es una obra maestra de la arquitectura romana y la influencia helenística. Es famoso por albergar el magnífico mosaico Alejandro, que representa la batalla entre Alejandro Magno y Darío III de Persia. Con sus dos jardines peristilo y mosaicos de suelos intrincados, sigue siendo un símbolo poderoso de la inmensa riqueza y el gusto sofisticado de la élite de la ciudad.
Via dell’Abbondanza era la antigua calle principal (decumanus maximus) de la antigua Pompeya, que cruzaba la ciudad en dirección este/oeste desde el Foro hasta la Porta Sarno. En la antigüedad la calle estaba llena de gente y ruidosa con muchas tiendas, talleres ("officinae"), cafeterías, snack-bares y restaurantes para comer y beber.
La Basílica, con una extensión de 1.500 metros cuadrados, fue el edificio más suntuoso del Foro, y su espacio fue utilizado para realizar negocios y para la administración de justicia.
El Gran Teatro de Pompeya fue construido a partir de los romanos en la ladera de una colina situada en la zona; aprovecharon la depresión natural de la montaña para crear un auditorio de majestad dividido en 5 sectores. En el escenario se representaron tragedias de las tradiciones grecorromanas.
El Lupanar de Pompeya es el burdel más famoso de la ciudad romana en ruinas de Pompeya. Es de particular interés por las pinturas eróticas en sus paredes. Lupanar es latín para "burdel". El lupanar de Pompeya también se conoce como Lupanare Grande.

We are not historians, but did want to visit Pompeii while traveling in the area! It is ridiculously hot there in August (our first mistake) but this mini tour was informative and gave us all the info we needed without wasting a whole day wondering around aimlessly.
Amazing experience. Although I do think the price was a bit high, the host and tour guide was amazing and gave very knowledgeable information, which is what we wanted.
Very well organised, guides very friendly. Mello gave a bit of background information on the coach to Pompeii, very clear instructions when we got there and after having 20 minutes refreshment break we were straight through to meet our other guide Luigi who took us around Pompeii. He was extremely informative and interesting. I found that personally in the August heat a half day trip was enough. Very glad we went and my teenage son enjoyed it too. Thank you
We took the half day Pompeii tour. The air conditioned bus was awesome in the heat, Nello and Luciano did a great job in getting us there and back. Once in Pompei we were handed off to Luigi for the tour. He knew the history and what we saw — mainly the main streets, shops, bakeries was interesting, but he skipped the main highlights of the tour, and why I chose this tour. The description said we would see Casa di Fauno, the largest and most extravagant house in Pompeii. We didn’t. It said we’d see the Forum. We didn’t. We didn’t see the Grand Theater or even pass by the Forum baths or the brothel. When I asked Luigi if we’d be seeing these, he said he did a different tour. What we saw was not worth the tour price. He focused on main streets, and shops, bakeries, a bath house and the main square which showed us only a piece of the full livelihood of the people back then. Disappointed to say the least. They need to ensure that their tour description is what is shown.

In these rare instances, our guides exercise expert discretion to protect you from the heat while maintaining a high-value experience. Near the House of the Faun, where the group pauses by the fountains, the guide provided the historical commentary from the exterior due to heavy congestion, choosing instead to offer a premium, quiet alternative: the magnificent House of Marcus Lucretius Fronto, alongside the Antiquarium. Far from cutting the experience short, these agile adjustments even allow us on occasion to gift our guests access to newly excavated sections that lie beyond the standard tour route. As for the Forum, it serves as the mandatory entryway and central axis of our route, making it an element every single group passes through. Fabulous day,first with Louisa on the bus and then with Patrice at the ruins. Patty was a very knowledgeable lady and took us around and explained things on the way. I think we picked the hottest day to do it though 🥵 Great day and great way to see Pompeii.

If travelling in high season - particularly with kids then the early morning 4hr trip is perfect. It’s so hot - you definitely want to avoid the afternoon sun. Guide was great and we had a lovely visit - it’s a fascinating place!

Great organised tour. We were picked up 2 minutes from our hotel, given ear pieces to listen to the guide. The air conditioned coach ride took about 45 minutes to get to Pompeii. We were then put into a group with a very knowledgeable English speaking guide who had trained as an archaeologist. She was very knowledgeable but also appreciative of how hot it was and kept finding shade for us to go to. She led us round the key parts of the city and taught us about things we would never have learnt. We then returned on the coach. We were given time at the start and end of the tour to buy drinks, food and souvenirs. Very highly recommend this tour.
