Piazza Bra es el centro de la vida social de Verona. La plaza está dominada por la majestuosa Arena y por el Palazzo Barbieri, el Ayuntamiento. Desde allí también es posible ver el Palacio Gran Guardia y el Museo Lapidario.
Este increíble anfiteatro romano fue construido durante el siglo I d.C. El nombre "arena" hace referencia a la arena que cubría el escenario donde luchaban los gladiadores. A día de hoy se sigue utilizando para espectáculos públicos y conciertos.
La plaza de Herb es el antiguo foro romano de la ciudad. En el centro de la plaza se puede ver la fuente de Madonna Verona, un monumento que representa a la ciudad como una bella mujer. Hoy en día, la plaza es un importante lugar de encuentro para los lugareños, mayores y jóvenes.
La Casa de Julieta es una visita obligada para todos los visitantes de la ciudad que quieran ver el lado romántico de Verona. Esta casa torre, que data de finales del siglo XIII, muestra un bajorrelieve de un sombrero que, según la tradición, es el escudo de los Capuleto. Pararemos fuera en el jardín, sin entrar.
También llamada Piazza Dante, por la estatua dedicada al poeta italiano más importante, la Piazza dei Signori está enmarcada por varios edificios importantes, como el Palazzo della Ragione y el Palazzo Podestà. Aquí es donde te despedirás de tu guía.

This was a brilliant tour. Alessandro was so knowledgeable and he is clearly passionate about his home city. It really was the perfect way to familiarise us with the Verona. We did the 10.30am tour and were finished by lunchtime. Alessandro was really good at pointing out great places to eat and drink. One to which we returned after the tour and had the best focaccia pizza ever. Would highly recommend this tour. Thanks!
Unfortunately we took an evening tour, (in addition, the tour was postponed 1h from 17.30 to 18.30) and all the cozy and nice places we saw and got tips about were closed when we were done with the tour. Super nice guide that I forgot the name of.

Alessandro is SUPERB--I've been on many guided tours throughout Italy and this may have been the very best. He's deeply knowledgeable, articulate (with easy to understand English), and just solid in every way. Through the entire tour he wove together fascinating history of this city with countless recommendations of restaurants and gelateria. He truly helped us fall in love with Verona. If we were here longer we'd take his food & wine tour for sure.
