My husband and I had a wonderful experience on this tour, and Bernie was an excellent guide! Before the tour even began, his personalized messages made finding the meeting location completely stress-free, which we really appreciated. Once inside the museum, Bernie struck the perfect balance between being informative and engaging. He sprinkled in humor throughout the tour and made it feel more like a conversation than a lecture, encouraging questions and discussion along the way. His passion for both art and Chicago was obvious, and we especially enjoyed how he connected many of the museum's masterpieces to Chicago's own history and culture. Those connections gave us a much deeper appreciation for both the artwork and the city itself. As a thoughtful bonus, Bernie even sent follow-up resources after the tour so we could continue learning on our own. That extra effort really stood out. My guide Joel was amazing. Truly a professional while keeping our tour light hearted and interesting. He did a bit where he had us look at the floor and follow his voice so we would be surprised to see the next piece he knew we would recognize. His tour focused on French Impressionism and The Art of America, which I now how a new love for, but did skip over other areas of the museum. You will not find a better guide for those sections. I’ve done guided tours in many museums, and this tour with Joel was by far the best. He is so knowledgeable and shared so much interesting history. We saw the most famous pieces, but his details added so much more than just viewing them or reading the placards.
