Explore la tranquila campiña de Phnom Penh en bicicleta, donde conocerá la vida real de la población local, las plantaciones de mango, las granjas de limoncillo, el pueblo de tejido de esteras de juncia jemer y el taller de tejido de seda del río Mekong. Esta aventura en bicicleta moderada es para aquellos que aman el ciclismo y pueden recorrer distancias de 25 a 30 km a través de los terrenos planos de la isla del Mekong. Después de recorrer el campo, las tierras de cultivo y los arrozales, además del lago natural que incluía la granja de lotos, continuamos hasta el pueblo de artesanías, donde aprenderá más sobre el tejido de seda jemer y disfrutará del almuerzo local con ellos. Al final, hacemos un corto viaje hasta el ferry y subimos a nuestro vehículo de apoyo de regreso a su hotel. Comenzamos a recogerlo a las 7:30 a. m. desde su alojamiento mencionado en Phnom Penh en Tuk Tuk o minivan, según el tamaño del grupo. Después de que lo recojamos, nuestra tripulación lo conducirá hasta el punto de encuentro en la oficina de correos de Camboya o lo dirigirá directamente al ferry que cruza el río Mekong. La Oficina de Correos, construida por el urbanista y arquitecto francés Daniel Fabre hacia 1895, está situada en el antiguo barrio europeo o francés. Este edificio administrativo dio nombre a la plaza donde se ubica. "Plaza de la Correo".
Después de cruzar el ferry y aterrizar en la isla de Mekong, ensillaremos la bicicleta y nuestro guía hará un breve itinerario en bicicleta con lo que esperamos aprender de este recorrido en bicicleta. Hay pocas islas ubicadas aguas arriba del río Mekong como la mejor manera de explorar la vida de las aldeas, los huertos de frutas y verduras como pepinos, maíz, jengibre, limoncillo, papaya, berenjenas y otras plantaciones como plátanos y mangos, etc. Viaje en bicicleta, también visitamos el taller de tejido de seda como tejido tradicional en la mayoría de los pueblos ubicados a lo largo del río Mekong.
El budismo thearavada es la religión oficial en Camboya y la practica el 95 por ciento de la población. Camboya tiene actualmente 5.104 pagodas budistas con 70.905 monjes. Los monjes comprenden dos sectas: una es la secta budista Mohanikaya y la otra es la secta budista Thammayut. La secta budista Mohanikaya tiene 4.843 pagodas con 68.476 monjes, mientras que la secta budista Thammayut tiene 261 pagodas con 2.429 monjes. Aunque el budismo es la religión principal en Camboya, también hay más religiones que la gente practica como musulmana, cristiana, etc. Después de visitar y aprender sobre el budismo en Camboya y otras religiones, vamos en bicicleta para visitar otro negocio local: el proceso de secado de cuajada de frijoles antes de dirigirnos al restaurante flotante para almorzar.

We had an awesome time! Cycled around the island and stopped at places to learn from and talk to the locals about life on the island. Highlights were the Silk Island Community and lunch on the floating restaurant. Our guide Mon was so good and so helpful. Defs recommend if you are in Phnom Penh.
Our tour guide Mon was so awesome and made us feel welcome. We rode bikes through the streets of Silk Island and seeing the markets, and saw the country side where we visited farms. And finally our time at the silk island facility was really eye opening. We got to speak with the workers and touched the silk cocoons. So far this has been one of my favorite tours and experiences in Phnom Penh area. I would really recommend.
It was very hot and expect very level but long bike ride. Over 1 1/2 hours. So be prepared apart from that the guide was amazing and friendly and the lunch at the floating restaurant on the Mekong was delicious plus the chill for 15 mins on the hammocks over the river before lunch was nice.
A really fun time out with guide Mon. Great local knowledge, very easy to get along with and he made it an all round interesting and fun tour. A bottle of water is supplied but if you run out there are plenty of roadside stalls where you can stop and buy yourself another bottle if required. Floating restaurant towards the end of the tour was excellent, authentic and not the usual touristy clap trap. Food spot on too.

Very nice day out of town riding around 2 islands visiting monesteries, silk farm and a great lunch on a floating restaurant. Thong speaks English well and has e-bikes if needed.

I had a great day out and Sam is a brilliant guide, very welcoming and friendly. The lunch is delicious at a beautiful spot by the river where you can laze in a hammock after the bike ride!

I had a wonderful morning with Mon cycling around Silk and Mekong islands. He provided a lot of information about the local plants and people. The tour of the silk making facility was very interesting and there was no pressure at all to buy the products. Ended with a nice lunch overlooking the river. Mon was so kind and kept the biking at a nice pace but not too fast. Felt very safe at all times. Highly recommended if you have some basic biking skills.
