Después de recogerlo de su hotel en Brasov, conduciremos durante aproximadamente una hora y media a Viscri mientras le presento los comienzos de la historia de Rumania. La primera visita es a Viscri, un encantador pueblo ubicado remotamente en una zona rural de Transilvania. Fue establecido originalmente por los Székelys, los primeros colonos de Transilvania, y más tarde vio una afluencia de colonos sajones en los siglos XII y XIII. El pueblo alberga la emblemática Iglesia Fortificada de Viscri, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO, y una de las más conocidas de Rumanía.
A media hora en coche desde Viscri, nuestra siguiente parada es la Fortaleza de Sighișoara. Un sitio declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO ubicado en el corazón de Transilvania, con sus coloridos edificios, calles adoquinadas y arquitectura bien conservada del siglo XIV, esta joya histórica lo transporta al pasado. Hogar de la icónica Torre del Reloj, Sighișoara es el lugar donde Vlad el Empalador pasó sus primeros años de vida. Explora la ciudadela medieval, pasea por las encantadoras plazas y siente los ecos de cuentos centenarios. En el camino de regreso de Sighisoara haremos una parada en la Fortaleza de Rupea. Aunque esta no es una vista de la UNESCO como las otras dos que acabamos de visitar, vale la pena. Esta joya fue construida por los sajones de Transilvania y documentada ya en 1324. La Fortaleza de Rupea se alza orgullosa sobre un acantilado de basalto de 120 metros de altura al oeste de la ciudad de Rupea. Esta fortaleza medieval tuvo una importante importancia estratégica en el siglo XIV, ya que sirvió como un nexo vital que conectaba Transilvania, Moldavia y Valaquia. Desde la Fortaleza de Rupea regresaremos durante aproximadamente una hora y concluiremos este recorrido de regreso a vuestro hotel en Brasov.

Adrian was a knowledgeable guide, giving us detailed historical information on the sites we visited. He was comfortable to be with. He is a good driver in a comfortable vehicle.
We had such a lovely day with Adrian. He was so knowledgeable- I now know more about medieval Transylvania and Vlad the Impaler than I will ever remember, and we also got a sense of the modern politics of Romania. He was very alert to any pace difficulties and adjusted accordingly and even spotted when food was needed. These places are stupendous and we couldn’t have seen them with a more fabulous guide/companion.

Adrian is very knowledgeable, clearly has a passion for his country's history and is so engaging. He was flexible with my planning and requests. He has plenty of suggestions for places to visit, extra activities and wonderful food! Amazing tour and tour guide. The first fort was interesting but the highñights were the two UNESCO cities. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day. I highly, highly recommend taking this tour with Adrian of you are at all interested in learning about the country you are visiting!
It was a really lovely experience. I was amazed by the amount of information that Adrian posesed about history of Transylvania and the passion that he speaks with. He is an incredible and patient guide, he showed us so many interesting things that it would have impossible for us to know. This tour was so great! I love that it was private- as in just my husband and myself with our guide, Adrian! It was a long day but so worth it. Adrian is so knowledgeable, and it’s impressive how much information he shared with us off the top of his head. We had great weather the day we went, so the views we had from up top at each of our stops were spectacular. Our guide was very personable, and when he wasn’t sharing historical information, we engaged in great conversations throughout the day, which made it even better- as if we were spending the day with a new friend who was showing us around a country we had never visited before. We also had a great lunch all together in the afternoon, so that was a nice break. My husband and I are so fascinated with Romania, and even more so now and can’t wait to go back and see/learn more!

Adrian’s depth of knowledge and love of his country’s history made this a truly memorable experience. My wife and I have been on many group tours which just can’t compare to the personalization Adrian was able to accommodate us with since this was a very specialized “private” tour. We visited 3 historical sites, one of which is a UNESCO site, and when taken together they really explained the history of Transylvania and its importance on the world stage and enormous global events that continue to shape our common history.
