A Chinese teahouse, theatre experience. A sensory delight of culture. Music, opera, acrobatics, story telling, puppetry, shadow art and a grand finale of Schezuan face changing actors! Loved it.
This was one of the most surprising and wonderful things we did on our trip to China. We would highly recommend Shu Feng Ya Yun Sichuan Opera. We’re especially glad we selected the VIP tickets, as they gave us central seats close to the front, which made the experience even better. We didn’t choose this tour for the 'ticket miss' service, as we felt it wasn’t necessary (especially since we had translation apps), and unfortunately, this part of the experience was disappointing. Daisy's English was poor, which on its own wouldn’t have been a problem, but the tour specifically advertised “excellent English-speaking Ticket Miss”, which just wasn’t the case. Daisy remained silent in the car, and when we asked a question, it took a lot of clarification for her to understand us. Once she did, she actually spoke negatively about the Shu Feng Ya Yun Sichuan Opera, which was discouraging to hear. She also rushed to the venue, not waiting for us, and did the same after the show. We were hoping to get a nice family photo in front of the theatre, but the photo she took was rushed, blurry, and she didn’t bother to check it. On a positive note, the driver was excellent - very professional and safe. Our recommendation would be to book the VIP tickets and driver only. If there’s an option to skip the ticket miss service, we would strongly suggest doing that.
歌剧院很酷。我绝不忘记。a great introduction to Chinese culture. A very skilled group of talented people..我会再来 没关系。I hope everyone experiencing this for thenself
Lily was incredibly nice and helpful. She told me all about Szechuan culture, opera and comedy on the way too. Warm and not overbearing. Highly recommended.
Daisy and sunflower provide great help over the massaging and in person at the performance guiding us to our seat and explaining the show in English we feel well taken care of. For the show all the performer have professionally show their skill and me and my family truly enjoy and thrill by the experience.
Fun performance, inside the park. The guide was extremely helpful and gave a quick synopsis and history of the show to and gave context to what was happening
Great show showcasing the various Sichuan performance genres including opera, hand shadows, face-changing etc. a local guide (Daisy) met us at the theater with tickets and bottles of water. Daisy accompanied us to our seats and made sure our needs were met prior to the show.
Going to a Chinese opera can be a little daunting as a foreigner - but booking ahead via Sunflower Tours made it so much easier and more enjoyable. Lily was my guide and she helped me acquire the tickets, find my seat and showed me around the opera house. One thing I really appreciated is that she gave me some context to the plays I was about to watch, which would have been lost in translation without her, adding to my enjoyment of the show. She was very welcoming and friendly and a fantastic guide. 10/10 I recommend Sunflower Tours to anyone visiting Chengdu and enjoy your time in the city!
I had a lovely evening! Miss Lily was extremely helpful and I enjoyed learning more about Chengdu from her. Would recommend!
We were a bit late and unfortunately didn’t get the full tour but Miss Fifi packed as much information in as she could and once she’d explained what was going to be happening on stage (as there was no translation), brought us fans, programs and small souvenirs which was incredibly thoughtful. The show itself was of a high quality (which we can now attest to having seen a lower quality show the next day). Would recommend!
