Booking this event from Viator is a 2-step process. First, make and pay for the event on Viator; then confirm the actual date and time with the event organizer. The location for this show is easily reached via the Shanghai Metro system. Take Line 1 to Wenshui Road Station, take exit #2 from the station, turn right on Wenshui Road, and walk about 1 km down Wenshui Road to reach the venue. No need to cross any major roads. There are 2 different Banquet shows at this venue, and another one at a different venue. I booked the Tang Dynasty Experience (one in the middle of the photo). I'm not sure how to book the different shows. By the way, the show is in Mandarin Chinese. The experience includes a show, a set menu, and tea. You can order and pay for alcoholic or soft drinks. Another extra charge is for changing into period costumes with matching makeup. They have both male and female costumes, although the female costumes are much more elaborate. Arrive at least 1.5 hours before the showtime to get the period costumes and makeup done in time to see the opening. Seating for the event is in 4 sections of 3 rows. The Special VIP attendees are seated in row 1 next to the stage. Regular attendees are seated in row 2. The VIP attendees are in row 3, which is raised to be at the same level as the performance stage. The set menu offered six appetizers, seven dishes, and 1 dessert. SVIP and VIP attendees get an additional dish (see photo). Seven short performances provide a very loose introduction before each dish is served. Overall, this is a satisfying dinner show. The food was good, and the show was pleasant. The bonus part of the show is people watching attendees in period costumes.
