Hands down the best SF experience! Thank you so much to our tour guide Derrick for catching us in passing when he did and giving us some San Fran hospitality. Our fabulous lady bus diver for the night was amazing too! Definitely recommend The Bug Bus Tour.
I enjoyed hoping off to explore the areas I wanted to see without feeling rushed. Well worth the money.

Really nice path with some history but not overdone, calming relaxing experience. Saw some great landmarks. On time and app was easy to use.
Thank you for your review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the route and found it to be a relaxing experience. We're also pleased that the service ran on time and that you found the app easy to use. Thank you for traveling with us, and we hope to welcome you on board again soon! 😊 Alex@BigBusTours
The tour was very interesting. The staff at the ticket office was very friendly and gave us advice on things to do in the area. My only feedback is that someone from the staff should explain the headphone set up. A few of us had no idea how it worked and the connection process was different on each bus. I would also suggest a wind advisory for anyone choosing to sit on the top level. A heavy jacket and hood is recommended. Also ladies be careful with jewelry and wigs or hair extensions. They might fly away!
Hi there, Thank you for your detailed feedback! We’re delighted you enjoyed the tour and found our ticket office team friendly and helpful. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding the headphones and windy conditions on the top deck. We’ll be sure to share your feedback with our team. We hope to welcome you back on board again soon! Very efficient way to visit the city. One day was not enough. Given the very hilly roads of the city, letting the driver drive was a very good idea.
The stops that are listed on viator are different from what they actually do. Website needs updated.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the stops shown on Viator did not match the actual route and understand how confusing that can be when planning your day. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and we’ll share your comments with the relevant team so the information can be reviewed and updated for future guests. Florin @ BigBusTours
The experience was well worth the money for all we were able to see. We got on and off four times, and had different drivers each time. Some drivers were certainly better than others with giving the information .

I enjoyed San Francisco, especially the stunning views at the Golden Gate! It was chilly but pleasant. The bus was affordable and clean.

Never miss, I normally use it at every city I visit.
The Ultimate Stress-Free Overview of San Francisco If you're looking for an effortless, scenic way to get oriented in San Francisco—especially on a short visit—the Big Bus Hop-On Hop-Off Tour is hard to beat. San Francisco looks compact on a map, but its extreme hills, spread-out attractions, and tricky parking make navigating a DIY itinerary surprisingly tiring. Big Bus essentially stitches the city's top landmarks into one continuous, elevated loop. The Highlight: Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge The single best part of the experience is riding across the Golden Gate Bridge on the open-top upper deck. Sitting high above standard traffic gives you unbelievable, panoramic views of the bay, the skyline, and the Marin Headlands. Reaching the North Vista Point stop offers incredible photo opportunities before you loop back. What Works Well * Great Logistics: Instead of constantly booking rideshares or navigating public transit transfers between distant spots like Golden Gate Park and Fisherman's Wharf, the bus serves as a seamless connector. * Informative Commentary: The audio narration gives solid historical context, fun trivia, and local neighborhood background as you roll through. * Flexibility: You can do one full loop (~2 to 2.5 hours) just to relax and see everything, or use your pass to hop off at key stops like Chinatown, North Beach, or the Palace of Fine Arts. Pro Tips for the Best Experience * Dress in Layers: San Francisco microclimates are real. The top deck is windy and cool, especially on the bridge. Pack a jacket, sunglasses, and a warm layer. * Sit Upper-Right: The right side of the top deck usually gets the best direct visual angles for major waterfront landmarks and bridge views. * Start Early: Hop on around 10:00 AM to get full value from your day ticket and avoid peak afternoon crowds at popular stops. Verdict: Highly recommended for first-timers, families, or anyone who wants to take in San Francisco’s iconic sights without the logistical headache.
