I highly recommend this hike! Everything went smoothly, from booking to drop-off. Junior is an excellent guide, very knowledgable and personable. He gave us all sorts of information and recommendations for our time in Rio. He paced the hike to accommodate the different levels in the group and gave personal attention to everyone and assistance when required. The hike is 1:45min to the peak through shady forest up until the last few hundred meters which are up steep stairs carved in the rock, exposed to sun. Make sure to bring lots of water. The views from the peak are stunning! The hike down takes about an hour on the same trail. The tour includes a short hike to a cave and a delightful splash in a waterfall for cool-down. Bring a bathing suit--changing rooms available. The tour ends with a stop at the Chinese pagoda overlook for a final view of Rio. We had a great morning at Tijuca National Park.
Thanks for taking the time to write this review; it means a lot to us. Cheers! RIO NATURAL ECOTOURISM
I highly recommend this hike. The breathtaking views are worth every step. Daniel was also a wonderful guide with a lot of knowledge of the nature and the forest. After the hike there is a possibility for a freshing "shower" at a waterful. Excellent experience.

Excellent trip. The Guide, Sylvio, did fantastic job, explaining to us everything that we wanted to know about the Rainforest history and its biosphere. He was perfectly on time, to pick me up from hotel and bring back to the same place. The hike was moderately light, we reached the peak and admired the views. Despite some clouds, there were several good spots to stay and enjoy.

Junior was an excellent tour guide. Very informational, very kind, and a great person to spend the morning with. The beautiful view at the top of the summit was worth the hike. He even knew where to spot the sloths!

Almost 3 weeks in Brazil and we did 3 total hikes. This was the best experience. Our guide Ian kept us well informed and entertained throughout. He set a great pace and made this very enjoyable, despite my friend and I being in different fitness levels. The views from the summit were spectacular.

Junior was incredibly helpful throughout the entire trip. It’s clear he’s a local who truly knows the region and has a genuine passion for ecotourism. He shared a wealth of knowledge with us about the local fauna and flora, and was always eager to offer great tips for exploring the area. His good humor made the experience even more enjoyable, and he even recommended some excellent restaurants afterward. The trail itself was definitely intense, but well worth it. Junior guided us to some truly stunning spots, and the hike was impressively well-organized. We were able to see a lot in a relatively short amount of time, thanks to the thoughtful planning behind the route. I highly recommend it!
