Este es un hermoso hábitat donde el tiempo adquiere un nuevo significado e invita a una tranquila contemplación de estos extraordinarios mamíferos. Un recorrido guiado por este espacio especialmente acondicionado para ellos, donde podrá aprender sobre esta emblemática especie, sus hábitos y su papel fundamental en el ecosistema. Muchos de estos perezosos han sido rescatados, y su cuidado es una prioridad para nosotros. La experiencia de observar a estos perezosos desde una distancia respetuosa y sin causarles estrés es simplemente mágica. No solo se enamorará de nuestros perezosos, sino que también comprenderá cómo este hábitat es una iniciativa de Selvatura Park.

En estrecha colaboración con el Santuario de Perezosos del Caribe, Selvatura Park exhibe al perezoso, uno de los animales más emblemáticos de Costa Rica en una exposición cuidadosamente diseñada que replica su hábitat natural y que alberga a 12 individuos somnolientos, de movimiento lento y que viven en los árboles.

Guide took us around the sloth habitat and explain the different aspects of it and the sloths. He answered all our questions and was very nice. Overall I’m glad we went.
We wanted to see the sloths so we booked our tickets to the habitat. You can buy these at Selvatura Park. You need to pay close attention to find the sloths and once you do they almost look fake since they are hanging very still with eyes closed but we were able to see some with their eyes open. If you visit Costa Rica we recommend this activity!

Got there right after 1pm feeding time. It was amazing. My guide was knowledgeable and very informative. The sloths were very active when I visited, which is rare.

The sanctuary is very beautiful; we saw 10 of the 12 sloths they told us were there. The friendly guide explained everything to us. A pleasant visit.

Saw so many sloths and they were so adorable!! Our guide was very informational, and answered the random questions that we had. The sloths were sleeping in the cutest positions, but we got to see some active ones too!

Our guide was hilarious, kind and educational. We got to see all 12 (13?) sloths in the habitat. Sonia even woke up and gave us a little show! We went a week without seeing any sloths before this, so the admission fee was worth the experience. We went to the 8:10 tour and had the sloth habitat to ourselves. Highly recommend, it was a perfect way to end our trip.

Excellent tour. We walked around the habitat and saw many sloths, some sleeping , some eating and some slowly moving across the branches. Very informative guide. This was the first thing we did when we arrived to Monteverde so it was perfect to see som many animals.

It was really nice to see the sloths at close. However, the group was really big and it felt rushed. When our guide was done with his talk we went back to the startingpoint to exit the building. Others could go to their next excursions. So we were only a short 30 minutes inside. I guess because we didn't have 10 minutes more of questions. Also because the shuttle busses don't drive between 11:00 and 13:00, forcing you to have an expensive lunch or take another tour. It felt like a tourist trap.
