Registro a las 7.30 h en el puerto deportivo Marlin Marina de Cairns, en el espigó E directamente a bordo del Seastar.
Situada a 22 millas náuticas (40 km) desde Cairns, la misma distancia que la del canal de la Mancha, y cerca de la barrera de coral, Michaelmas Cay es la mayor de las islas deshabitadas de los cayos de los arrecifes en la región de Cairns y cuenta con un inmenso tamaño en comparación. El Seastar es el primer barco en llegar a Michaelmas Cay. Muy pocos buques proporcionan en la actualidad acceso a esta delicada isla y en estos momentos solamente hay dos que realicen trayectos diarios con derechos de atraque en el cayo.
Nuestra segunda parada será en el arrecife de Hastings, parte de la Gran Barrera de Coral. El arrecife de Hastings está situado a 30 millas náuticas de Cairns y es un típico arrecife de coral exterior en el que, la mayoría de los días, una línea de rompeolas marca el lugar en el que el profundo océano rompe contra la pared del arrecife. El arrecife en sí tiene poca profundidad en su superficie, al tiempo que unas laderas parecidas a las de una colina se van sumergiendo en las aguas de la zona.
Después de visitar Michaelmas Cay y Hastings Reef y disfrutar de la comida a bordo de nuestro barco con aire acondicionado, lo dejaremos en Esplanade, ¡esperamos que haya tenido una experiencia fantástica con nosotros!

This was our favorite tour out of cairns. It didn’t hurt that we had the most amazing conditions, but it was such a treat to get out on the reef in two spots! The crew was great with everyone on the boat (even some folks who were a bit stressed snorkeling for the first time) and we couldn’t have had a better day

Awesome trip to the great barrier reef. Small boat compared to others in Cairns that allows them to be quicker in amd out of the reef. Very choppy sea day but Tim ,our captain ,delivered perfect both ways. The crew and specially Carla and Seth were TOP, you can feel that they like what they do. Michael mas was good but Hastings was amazing.Nice food on board. We rate the experiemce as a 10. Vamos Seastar!!!

This was a wonderful likely once in a lifetime experience, and the young crew was fantastic and energetic. My daughter and I both got sick on the boat, which obviously isn’t the tour’s fault since that’s due to our own sea sickness, and the crew was terrific in helping us out. The snorkeling was excellent and we were offered instructional scuba diving if we wanted it. Five stars for this small local tour company!!

This is a small boat up to 36 person. The staff are really professional and also caring. The food is warm and nicely prepared. The location for snorkelling is great and not a mass tourism show. I usually dive but the snorkelling definitely beats my diving here. They don't rash you and show you the nicest part of outer reef. I f you do really want a little nice and quality excursion to the reef I certainly would book with this company . I was on another large boat two days ago and I wasn't impressed at all but this company made it for me! A long lasting memorable day for years yo come. Thanks to all the staff and the captains Chris abd also Alicia the two name I managed to memorise.

We had a fantastic day. We were very lucky because the sun was out and water clarity was high. This is a smaller boat which didn’t seem to impact the smoothness of the ride, but was def better than other snorkel experiences we’d done when it was a big boat full of people. This was a smaller group so the ratio of staff to guests was really high. Seth the snorkel guide is quite the personality, full of information about the coral and marine life, and went out of his way to take great pics of us which were included free in the experience. Highly recommend!

This is my second trip on the Seastar. It’s always great fun. The crew are always in good spirits and look after every single passenger. You feel very comfortable and well looked after. The crew also provide lots of information about the reef and the marine life. The food on board was excellent too. There were snacks and lunch. We were lucky enough to spot some whales today. The captain even stopped the boat especially so we could see these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. All in all, it was a brilliant tour in a small group, which makes for a much more relaxed experience. Keep up the good work. Thanks for everything.

Amazing trip! The crew members were super nice and considerate to accommodate people with different needs to enjoy the most of the trip. We were lucky that we traveled on a windy yet sunny day, and the cay and reef were sooo beautiful. It’s nice that they first took us to the cay for a less challenging experience; we got to see the coral reef and fish under the glass bottom boat. Then we snorkeled a bit back to the boat. The buoyant life jackets and wetsuits were lifesavers. My mom was not comfortable swimming in open water and the staff members led her all the way back to the boat in a ring, so she got to experience snorkeling a bit while feeling safe and comfortable. In the afternoon we got to snorkel even closer to the outer reefs, where the waves were rougher but the view and experience were even more impressive. Thanks Carla and Me Me (hope I’m spelling it right) so much for being nice and patient as our snorkeling guides! Hope to tour with the staffs again when we are more prepared to experience more. Ps remember to bring some quick-dry clothing and seasickness pills in case needed. And I wish I had a GoPro!

The staff where all really friendly and incredibly helpful. We had a great day snorkelling at two separate locations and leaning about the reef on the glass bottom boat tour ! Thanks again
