Amelia is an amazing guide!

We’ve been a few times and always enjoyed it but this visit was exceptional because of Amelia, an incredibly friendly and knowledgable guide around the rock pools and star fish. She went above and beyond for my little boy and really inspired him - he wants to be a marine biologist and she told him all about opportunities at Sea Life as well as giving him a little gift. He said it was the best day of his life! He has been proudly beaming and showing everyone her gift and telling them about her - she turned it from a good day to an extraordinary day we’ll never forget. Thank you!!

Great day out, but far too overcrowded

Great family day out, overall the kids enjoyed themselves, especially the splash park at the end. The tickets are really expensive, we were hoping to watch more of the animal feeding sessions, but unfortunately they were all over crowded and much too busy so we were unable to see. I think they let far too many people in the park, we could barely get our pram around people in each building.

Disappointing visit

Three generation family visit. Enjoyed by the youngest but much less so by the older ones mainly due to small size of animal and fish enclosures. BEWARE: the map given on arrival includes a mini golf course. However, it is not made clear that this is a separate organisation that makes a significant extra charge for entry.

Poorly handled fire incident

What was supposed to be a lovely family day out during our holiday in Weymouth turned into a very disappointing experience. Only around 10 minutes after arriving, while exploring the centre with my partner, mother, sister and autistic nephew, a fire broke out. Within minutes, thick black smoke was filling the park. We immediately decided to leave as we didn’t feel it was safe to stay. On our way out, we asked about a refund or the possibility of rebooking. The member of staff at the desk told us he wasn’t authorised to issue refunds and also said that we didn’t have to leave, despite the fact that smoke was already spreading through the premises . By this point I was feeling nauseous and unwell from the smoke. As we got outside, we could see crowds of people rushing out, and staff had stopped allowing new visitors to enter. Our car, which was parked outside, ended up covered in ash from the fire, highlighting just how significant the incident was. Later, I read the news article and was surprised to see a statement saying the premises had been evacuated. From what we experienced, visitors appeared to evacuate themselves. We did not witness any organised evacuation or instructions from staff to leave before people had already begun making their own way out. I understand emergencies can happen and I don’t blame SEA LIFE for the fire itself. However, I do expect clear communication, proper evacuation procedures, and fair customer service afterwards. Being told we didn’t have to leave while the building was filling with smoke was concerning, and leaving after only 10 minutes without being offered a refund or an immediate solution was extremely disappointing. Based on this experience, I can’t recommend visiting and hope the evacuation procedures and customer service are reviewed so other families don’t have the same experience.

Family Day Out in the Sunshine

Overall, another fantastic visit to the best aquarium around. The layout is fantastic. The splash park and small swimming pool were a welcome relief to a blazing hot day. Staff were mainly cheerful and helpful. My only gripe was the cafe near the entrance/exit, not particularly busy, but the staff were totally disinterested and just stood around and watched as I cleaned the table and cleared the trash of others before placing my order so we could sit to eat our over priced food and beverages. Would I come again? Yes, without hesitation, but I would definitely bring my own food and beverages.

Best one we have visited in the UK

Absolutely loved our trip to SeaLife in Weymouth today. We have been to many aquariums in this country and found this the most accessible and enjoyable (even when compared to some of the larger 'flashier' ones. Well set up and didn't feel cramped or rushed. Would definitely recommend this aquarium

Sea Life Visit

Nice staff on site when I visited, though there were few around when I arrived at opening time. No sign of overall management. The place looked a bit tired and some signs need to be replaced. I even came across a discarded pair of pants! Also, there was the annoying misuse of the apostrophe on several signs, though the information given was educational. Lovely animals, but I thought the turtles were in small ponds. It was a nice day weather-wise, so good to walk around outside, and I enjoyed the areas that had been left wild. The rock pools were supposed to be 'interactive' but I wasn't allowed to touch anything. Overall, an interesting place to visit

Cashless coffee shops!

I am beyond appalled with your cashless policy in the coffee shop! Shame on you it’s the first and last time my family will be visiting your premises! In England cash should be used as part of its economy!

Great day out!

A wonderful place to see ocean life, with lots of information and really cool exhibits. Highlights for us were the otters, live feeding was a lot of fun. Good for a whole day out, either with a picnic or eating at the restaurant. Staff very friendly and super helpful. Not too badly priced, about the same as any other Sea Life, worth the fee in my opinion. Best for families certainly. A must do if in Weymouth.
