Our tour guide notified us 45 minutes before the tour that the heat index will be 104°. We could have rescheduled but we were leaving that afternoon and were okay with cancelling because it sounded like they wanted to. When I said as much, the guide stated they’d do it but that people have fainted this time of year. Well, my friends are close to 70 and the guide’s warning scared them so I asked if we could get a refund. Then the guide said they’ll try to stay in the shade and that this just isn’t New Hampshire, which is where I’m from. Then I just asked for a refund because they were nervous and the guide approved the refund with the following statement: Sure we’ll gladly issue a refund. I’d rather mention it before hand than have someone get sick half way through the tour. Happens all the time with those from the northeast. My friends live in Florida and we were all set to do the tour. When the guide became condescending, I didn’t want to spend time with this person.
Thank you for the review. Your guide wasn’t trying to be condescending, he was trying to keep you and your parties safety and wellness an upmost priority. How could you detect “condescension” in a text message anyway? There was a 104 degree heat index that day and your guide had already had some folks get sick on his previous tour and have to go back to their hotel. It’s a problem in late spring and not everyone knows that. How disappointing it is to find out this is how you perceived his best of intentions! I read some of the reviews that you left for other tour companies and there is a consistent pattern of dissatisfaction. While we hate to see this, we do value your opinion.
A great way to spend the afternoon. Michael is new to the company, but really knows his history. A nice walk through the squares with plenty of facts on the architecture and history of how Savannah was founded.
Thank you so much for the review!
Michael was wonderful, very knowledgeable. It’s a great tour to get an understanding of the founding of Savannah
Glad you enjoyed the tour and thank you so much for the review!
The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the area and history of Savannah. Not sure we saw all the sites listed though.
Thank you so much for the review! I checked with the guide and your tour was 45 minutes longer than advertised and he even included the cemetery that isn’t on the list of sites! 42 points of interest!
Excellent experience. Very informative. Guide was Brad, and he was knowledgeable and engaging.
Thank you so much for the kind review!
This tour was one of the best tours I've been on in Savannah with interesting historical facts and stories. Our guide, Brad, was both humorous and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all of our many questions as he grew up in Savannah. I will definitely book again on our next trip to this historic city.
Thank you so much for the review! It’s so good to hear y’all enjoyed the tour. We will send a copy of your review to Brad. You’ll make his day!
Brad was very informative and truly insightful about the history of Savannah. We loved interacting with him and would definitely do another tour with him as the guide.
Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed your tour and time with your guide!!
Tour guide William Spinks knows his Savannah history - my husband and I had never visited here before, and we learned much from William about the architecture, politics, agriculture, and economics of this area of Georgia. Mr. Spinks knows well the layout of the city. He answered our questions and gave his talk with a friendly, easygoing attitude.
Thank you for the review! We’re so glad to hear your expectations were met! We certainly hope you’ll come back for another visit!
Our guide was a wealth of information and was happy to answer our questions. We absolutely loved it!
Thank you so much for the review! Your enjoyment and satisfaction is why we do it!!
More history than walking. Lots of Revolutionary War and founding of Georgia’s history; whitewashing of the very little Civil War era history. Our guide covered the cotton boom and the people who benefited, nothing of slavery… or Civil Rights era history. The guide was engaging and entertaining enough, but very disappointed in the content.
Thank you for the review. The Savannah Stroll covers the founding of the colony of Georgia and Georgia’s influences and contributions to the South. If you would like an in depth study of the Civil War, slavery, and post War Savannah, we offer a tour for that. It is called Civil War Savannah.
