So glad I chose this for my family !

I went in summer and it was very hot but even so I never would have wanted to miss this. Having a guided tour is so much better that just going it alone because of all the things you learn in addition to not missing the parts you may not otherwise see. Our guide was so passionate about helping us understand (-:

Tour duration was 4 hours +. Check in desk told us duration was 1.5 hours. There was also no transportation provided back to the pickup location. That was not clear as well initially. Tour sites were beautiful and guide was knowledgeable.

My husband and I did the tour in the afternoon and it was very hot, BUT we still enjoyed it. Sagrada Familia is stunningly beautiful. Learning about Gaudi's designs and how he built the structural aspects show what an incredible man he was. I wish we would have had more time to just sit and watch the color through the windows as the sun moved. Visiting the Sagrada Familia was on my bucket list. Park Guell was also interesting and continued to demonstrate what a genius Gaudi was. Highly recommend.

Avoid this tour!

On July 13, 2026, my husband and I took the Viator combo tour of La Sagrada Família and Park Güell. This was by far the worst Viator tour we have ever taken. In hindsight, we would have had a much better experience visiting both sites on our own. The tour was advertised as being conducted in English, but our guide, Emilio, led it in both English and Spanish. He frequently switched between the two languages and often seemed to lose his train of thought, making the commentary difficult to follow. He also spent much of the tour discussing highly detailed archaeological aspects of La Sagrada Família, rather than providing a more engaging overview of the site, which made the experience confusing and less enjoyable. After the guided portion at La Sagrada Família, we were given only about five minutes to visit the gift shop before being handed off to a different guide for the Park Güell portion of the tour. We then had to walk approximately 1.2 miles in the heat to reach the bus that would take us to the park. While on the bus, we were informed that there would be no transportation back to the original meeting point after the tour, so everyone would need to make their own way back. By the time we arrived at Park Güell, we were so exhausted that some members of our group decided to skip the visit altogether and head back on their own. If this excursion is still being offered by the same tour operator, I would recommend skipping it. You can easily visit both La Sagrada Família and Park Güell independently, at your own pace, and likely have a much more enjoyable experience.

The tour guide was...

The tour guide was knowledgeable and very friendly but the young man at the desk with the dyed blonde hair that we initially interacted with was rude and unprofessional. His behavior alone would make us not want to book another tour with Julia Tours (name?) again. In addition, after you reach the tour at the top of the hill/mountain they do not inform you that you will be responsible for finding your own transportation home instead of returning you to where you started the tour. This is quite a distance in miles up a steep incline and we felt terrible for the elderly and those with small children as we saw them scrambling to find a way to get their families back to the city center without needing expensive taxi(s) or navigating the metro with small children. Again, the tour guide was great, the Basílica and park guell were fantastic, but the company itself seemed disinterested in the safety and security of their guests. We had to leave early to go find transportation back to town as we weren’t told until we were en route that we would be responsible for find our own way back.

Waste of time and effort.

1. Meeting place. We met in a small office at Julia Travel. There were too many people and too many tours meeting in this office. Fairly chaotic. We then had to walk to the church, line up, and then commence the tour. This all took approximately 45 mins. 2. Skip the line? I didn't feel like we were skipping any lines with big groups passing us by. 3. Bilingual guide. Our group was a mixed language group so every explanation was repeated in each language. So it was meaningless babble through the earpiece which was pretty grating as the tour guide spoke really fast, and her English particularly hard to understand. I ended up taking the earpiece out and as there were many tours going through, I found listening to other guides was easier to get snippets of information. Her attempt of humour fell flat many times as I observed with other tourists rolling their eyes or generally just looking away. The church was beautiful and captivating. But to me, it was a huge money generator scheme, and hardly felt like a church atmosphere. (I'll add that I'd done quite a few church entries over 6 weeks and the bible story of Jesus roaring through the market place in a church upset that the church was being used as such). Just my thoughts. Then we had to wait outside for a supposedly 15mins for the guide to do I don't know what. She disappeared. We then had to walk 5-10 minutes (her words) to a bus to take us to Park Guell. This turned out to be another 40 minutes as the numbers were dropping as other tourists were just dropping out and they had to be accounted for. The bus ride was another 20 minutes to the Park where we had to wait at the gate again. 4. The Park was ok. Nothing to write home about in my opinion, except it was a good view to the sea. By this time the number of English speakers had dropped out so the guide would spend what felt like 5 minutes talking in Spanish, and 1 minute talking in English. She had lost her enthusiasm. My wife and I had lost ours as well so we told her we were ending the tour, which didn't faze her in the slightest. Didn't even ask why, just turned around and kept going. So with a total of 3 hrs advertised tour, It'd be hard pressed to be 45 minutes of actual English information relevant to us. The rest was walking to the attraction, lining up, walking to the bus, driving, waiting at lines. The we had to make our own way back to wherever we were staying. The bonus was it only took 20 minutes. (After walking at least that to wherever the bus was waiting to take us to Park Guell)

Respuesta del operador

Dear alantE3637DB, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We are sorry to learn that the Park Güell & Sagrada Família tour did not meet your expectations. The meeting point for this tour is our office, located next to the Sagrada Família. As indicated in the booking information, we ask all participants to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time. This allows enough time to check in and helps ensure that everyone can join the group on time in case of any unforeseen delays. Please note that group entrances to the Sagrada Família are allocated at a specific time and late arrivals cannot be accommodated. Our office is located just across one corner of the Basilica, and the guided commentary begins as the group walks to the official group entrance, which is approximately a 3–5 minute walk away. The tickets for the Sagrada Família are purchased in advance, and the Basilica requires all official guides to complete an accreditation process before entering with their groups. These procedures are mandatory and cannot be skipped or expedited. We would also like to clarify that not all of our tours are operated exclusively in English. While we offer English-only departures every day, we also operate bilingual tours, and the option you selected was one of these. After the guided visit to the Sagrada Família, participants have some free time to revisit their favourite areas before walking approximately 10–15 minutes to the coach. Due to traffic regulations established by the local authorities, coaches are not permitted to pick up groups any closer to the Basilica, with the exception of the hop-on hop-off buses. Finally, access to Park Güell is managed by the Park's own staff, who also carry out the required accreditation process for all guided groups before entry. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify these aspects of the tour. Kind regards,

Disappointing experience

This experience, which we had so looked forward to was organised chaos!! Yes it was a hot day but once we met at ticket office walked to La Sagrada waited for guide to pick up tickets gone through security we had just 40 minutes inside with 10 minutes at the end Before getting the coach to the park. This was very disappointing nowhere near enough time, group far too big with difficulty hearing and seeing everything. We then had to walk 20 minutes in the heat to get the bus for the park. On arrival at the park we then had to wait for an additional guide 30 minutes!!!! Once we eventually got in we had 35 minutes with the guide Xenta? Then to be informed there was no return coach we had to make our own way back. Another 10 Euros!! Having paid £194 for this experience we were disappointed to say the least definitely not good value didn’t get the experience advertised and wouldn’t recommend.
