We just got back from our honeymoon, where we did a combination of safari and a beach stay in Zanzibar through Lion King Adventures. Overall, it was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Our guide, Mkwanda, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us the most unbelievable things throughout our safari. He managed to get us so close to every animal while still being extremely respectful of the wildlife and never encroaching on nature. It was such a pleasure getting to know him over the week we spent together, and he was without a doubt one of the highlights of our entire trip! As for the planning of the trip itself, we did have some issues with our itinerary that we feel could have been avoided with a little more discussion upfront about what we wanted out of the experience. Because some of our lodges were so far apart, we had days where we spent up to 12 hours in the car. We had specifically selected some amazing hotels and lodges and were really looking forward to having time to enjoy their amenities, but the amount of driving and moving between properties made that difficult. That being said, Lion King was very responsive once we were on the trip and did everything they could to adjust our itinerary. They moved things around where possible and even arranged for us to get to Zanzibar a little earlier so we could start the relaxing portion of our honeymoon sooner, which we really appreciated! Overall, it was an incredible experience and one we will never forget. Our biggest piece of advice for anyone booking would be to be very specific about how much time you are comfortable spending on the road each day. If you don’t want to be out from early morning until evening every day, I would recommend choosing fewer lodges and spending multiple nights at each rather than having such a transient itinerary. The safari itself was absolutely incredible, especially thanks to Mkwanda, but we do think the planning could be a little more tailored to each client’s preferred travel style.

Fredy was incredible and this was an amazing experience! I was worried about being in a car all day every day but each outing held different surprises! Fred seemed to always be able to up the ante and had great knowledge about the goings on in the Serengeti! I would 1000% recommend lion king and fredy in particular! We are already planning to come back with the kids!

We spent a week doing safaris with Fredy and he was incredible! He is so easy going and happy, with almost two decades of safari experience. He asked what we wanted to see and told us "don't worry" as he made all of our dreams come true. We saw so many amazing animals up close and somehow Fredy made each day better than the day before. We stayed in beautiful luxury camps and had the best fresh food! We visited the northern and central Serengeti then ended at the Ngorogoro crater. The trip was incredible, WOW! So glad we chose Lion King and were lucky enough to have Fredy as our guide!

Amazing safari with Fredy! He's a safe, skilled driver and made the entire experience fun and relaxed. We saw a ton of animals, and he taught us so much about Tanzania's wildlife and culture. Couldn't ask for a better guide, highly recommended.

My friend and I did our safari with Lion King Adventures and it was nothing short of an amazing experience. First off, our guide, Khalifa was incredible! He knew his way around the Serengeti to the point we were able to see 4/5 big 5 in one day- obviously nothing was guaranteed. We were two women who felt very safe the entire time. We had a few hour long drives getting to different parks and were able to sleep/relax knowing we were in good hands. I hope anyone who is trying to decide which group to book with goes with this one and asks for Khalifa. There was not one hiccup or issue and everything was planned to the tee. The best vacation I’ve ever experienced.

Are guide Mecky was Amazing he taught us so much about the animals ect it was Amazing

Outstanding experience all around. Can easily see why LKA is considered a top operator. Our guide Mecky was a great driver, incredibly kind, and very knowledgeable. The attention to detail during the booking process was impressive. Upgrading to luxury wasn’t that much more money and the luxury lodges were incredible. I Would highly recommend choosing LKA!
