Este tour de 5,5 horas te lleva a un viaje a través del tiempo, ¡a través de la comida! Abarcando tres distritos geográficos de Tokio y tres períodos de tiempo, este tour gastronómico cubre los fundamentos de la comida y la cocina japonesa (el período Edo), los alimentos actuales más populares en Japón y termina en el futuro con algunos giros de fusión en los sabores tradicionales. Visita Nihonbashi, Ginza / Estación de Tokio y Akihabara. Disfruta de 14 degustaciones de comida japonesa. ¡Ven con hambre! Deberás poder caminar a un ritmo razonable en un entorno grupal y debes esperar caminar aproximadamente 6,5 km o 4 millas en total durante las 5,5 horas. También deberás poder subir y bajar una gran cantidad de escaleras en las estaciones de metro. Itinerario
Comenzando en Nihonbashi, en el pasado, analizaremos los ingredientes y sabores clave que sustentan la comida japonesa. Aprenderemos sobre Dashi, el caldo que forma la base de muchos platos japoneses. Nos centraremos en dos ingredientes clave; Katsuobushi y Kelp. A partir de ahí, disfrutaremos de algunos bocadillos japoneses tradicionales que se han comido por generaciones. Satsuma-age (pastel de pescado frito), Amazake (una bebida saludable de arroz fermentado), Imo Kenpi (papas fritas) y Daifuku (mochi de arroz glutinoso con relleno dulce). Todas las tiendas que hemos elegido han sido cuidadosamente seleccionadas. ¡Todos tienen más de 100 años, varios datan del período Edo!

Comeremos y beberemos como Salarymen en un Izakaya (pub de estilo japonés) y un puesto de fideos debajo de las vías. En nuestro menú tenemos Yakitori (carne a la parrilla en brochetas), un Sour (una bebida alcohólica que es exclusiva de Japón) y tempura soba o curry udon (platos de sopa de fideos).

Al llegar a Akihabara, un área famosa por sus numerosas tiendas de electrónica, cafés de mucama y cultura del Anime, consideramos el futuro de la comida en Japón. Yasu was such a lovely guide. He was very thoughtful in choosing locations to visit in Tokyo for us. He shared wonderful historical information which we loved. He was extremely knowledgeable and very kind. His love for Tokyo showed! Having him meet us at your hotel and return us to our hotel eliminated any type of worry trying to navigate Tokyo on our own! What a fantastic day we had with Miko! Absolutely fabulous tour. Our group of 3 friends did this tour whilst in Tokyo and it was a highlight of our 5 days in the city. Our guide Miko was fantastic - knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Japanese food. The tour was in 3 stages taking us from food of the past, to food of the present and ending with food of the future. Each stage was in a different area of Tokyo. We tried so many different types of foods that we would never have found on our own. Everything we tasted was absolutely delicious. You certainly will not need dinner after this tour! I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone in Tokyo who wants to learn a little more about the history of Japanese food or those who simply love food.

It was very refreshing to be introduced to the past (Nihonbashi), present (Tokyo Station) and future (Akihabara) of Tokyo on a food tour. I also really enjoyed the simple and easy-to-understand explanation of the guide MIKO, and the food selection at each store, which I don't even know about.
