Una ruta por la historia más popular de Madrid: sus tabernas. Locales con más de 100 y 200 años de antigüedad que son historia viva de la ciudad. Algunas han visto comer y beber a reyes, escritores o artistas y otras a las clases más bajas. Entre todas nos descubren las costumbres más arraigadas de nuestra ciudad, sus anécdotas, la forma de vivir de la gente y las innumerables cosas que han visto sus paredes. Por supuesto, podremos parar a probar un vino/cerveza en alguna de ellas! Contando con el restaurante más antiguo del mundo y una tradición sin igual en el mundo de los bares, sin duda, Madrid es una ciudad que hay que conocer también desde sus tabernas y restaurantes más ilustres. * El recorrido puede variar. No siempre se entra en todos los locales.

Restaurante de 1839, famoso por ser el lugar donde acudía la alta aristocracia madrileña, incluyendo los reyes, pero también artistas, escritores e intelectuales. Un lugar lleno de historia, que parece un palacio por dentro.
Taberna de 1860, de carácter muy popular, donde la gente lleva siglos disfrutando de sus tapas y cañas a buen precio. Tiene también una curiosa conexión con la política española.
Uno de los comercios más antiguos de Madrid: 1610. Aún sin ser una taberna, nos hará entender muchas cosas sobre la historia popular y la diferencia entre las posadas y las tabernas.
Restaurante Botín. El Restaurante más antiguo del mundo (Reconocido por Guinness World Record) y toda una institución de Madrid. El resto de detalles los dejamos para el tour.
Fundado en 1895, es uno de las tabernas más tradicionales y con más personalidad de la capital. Muy relacionado con el mundo de los toros.
Conocida como La Taberna de los tres siglos, fue fundada por un torero en 1884, pero sobre una taberna anterior, que data de 1787. Llena de historia, su "vino Francés, probablemente no es lo que te esperas.

Carlos was extremely knowledgeable and professional and we had the best tour. He made it fun but full of great history and little facts about Madrid.
Diana was so sweet and showed us stuff that we would never have known if we didn't go on this tour. I am so glad I started out with this tour as it gave us a great understanding of local perspective. The weekend we went was extremely busy, but it was a lot of fun. All the taverns knew our guide and we got to see secret spots. A must do if you like to learn about local drinks and tapa's.
Guido was a very pleasant and enthusiastic guide. He provided a great history tour and in depth knowledge of the best places for refreshments.The places we stopped in for drinks and eats were great.
We had such a great afternoon. Our tour included so much more information than just the taverns. We learned about the story behind each place, and the history of Spain at the time of their opening. It was very enjoyable and during our stay we returned to these places for lunch or dinner. Our guide was great, the meeting location was very convenient.

Thoroughly enjoyed this walking tour of some of the oldest taverns in Madrid, including the oldest continuously operated restaurant in the world. The tour guide was thoroughly engaging and very knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

We had a great time with Enrique. He is a fun-loving guy with lots of knowledge about the oldest taverns of Madrid. On every stop, he'd have a bunch of random Spanish history to throw in as well. So we learned a lot about tapas and taverns, but also a lot about Spain and Madrid.

In the company of Jaime we discovered the history of the taverns of Madrid. His proposal goes beyond the usual sightseeing tours, tells you anecdotes and curiosities that are not found in the history books. I recommend it to everyone, a fun and interesting tour!!
I had already taken a guided tour with Jaime a couple of years ago. I loved it that time and this one was absolutely great too. I have been in Madrid all my life but Jaime, through the story told in a fun and entertaining way, rediscovers this city and above all the world of taverns! I think it is a great plan always but more in this time we have to live with covid, since it is outdoors and they have gathered the number of people for each visit. Thanks Jaime!
