Para los excursionistas, la reserva ofrece un entrenamiento genuino, cubriendo unos 4 km de terreno variable con suficientes altibajos para que su corazón bombee. Dar es Salaam se erige como centro de negocios de Tanzania. Es la ciudad más grande del este y centro de África. Su recogida comenzará temprano en la mañana 08:00 y se dirige al sur en la carretera de Nyerere. En el camino pasará por las áreas industriales de Vingunguti hasta el aeropuerto, lo que significa que dejará la ciudad para ir de excursión en la reserva natural del bosque de Pugu.
Anteriormente conocido como el bosque de Mogo, las colinas de Pugu es ampliamente reconocido como uno de los bosques costeros más antiguos que quedan en el planeta. Caminar por este antiguo dosel de hoja perenne se siente como retroceder en el tiempo. Es un refugio absoluto para los observadores de aves, escondiendo más de 80 especies distintas de aves dentro de sus ramas. La reserva cuenta con una excelente red de rutas de senderismo, cada una con una perspectiva diferente del paisaje. Una de nuestras rutas favoritas conduce a un impresionante mirador panorámico. Desde lo alto, el contraste es increíble : se puede mirar hacia atrás en el horizonte lejano de Dar es Salaam mientras está rodeado de kilómetros de exuberante bosque y un lago tranquilo y oculto debajo. Si te apetece una pequeña aventura, también haremos una caminata al sistema de cuevas local, famoso por su enorme colonia de murciélagos residentes y una fascinante mirada a la geología única de la zona. Es el antídoto definitivo contra el ritmo rápido de la ciudad, ofreciendo increíbles lugares de fotografía y una profunda respiración de aire fresco.

If you're a fan of taking perfect photos, Pugu Hills is a dream come true. Every bend in the path offered new light, new frames, and new reasons to stop and take photos. Birds would linger just long enough for a quick photo before disappearing back into the foliage. Our guide knew every rustle in the bushes and pointed out things we'd have completely missed. By the time we reached the viewpoint, sweaty and grinning, the view over the hills made every uphill step worth it. My friends and I barely spoke for stretches, just present in the moment together. We left tired but lighter somehow, like the hills gave us more than they took. A gentle, grounding day I won't forget soon. I would confidently recommend Envoyage Tanzania as a trusted tour partner.

My family woke up early to explore the heart of Dar es Salaam. The morning began with laughter at Coco Beach, where the sea breeze set the tone for the day. Soon after, we visited the National Museum, letting the children marvel at ancient stories and traditions. At Mwenge Market, we watched artisans carve wood with incredible skill, and couldn’t resist buying a few keepsakes. Lunch brought us together over Swahili seafood dishes that tasted like the ocean itself. A quick ferry ride carried us to Bongoyo Island, where swimming and sandcastles made the afternoon fly by. The day ended at Slipway, watching the sun melt into the ocean as a perfect family moment.

I only had a full day in Dar es Salaam, but the city made sure every minute was unforgettable. When the moment I stepped out into the warmly welcome Envoyage Tanzania, salty air drifting in from the Indian Ocean, I felt an energy that was both relaxed and vibrant. The streets buzzed with a mix of honking bajajis, friendly street vendors, and the aroma of freshly grilled mishkaki blending with the scent of sea breeze. Lunch was a plate of freshly grilled fish with pilau rice, eaten slowly as the ocean breeze danced across my table. By evening, the city glowed-streetlights reflecting on the water, laughter spilling from beachside cafes, and the scent of spiced tea in the air. One day wasn’t enough, but it was enough to know I’d come back.

Our day trip to Dar es Salaam with Envoyage was a vibrant and memorable experience. We started early, exploring the lively streets and soaking in the city's unique coastal vibe. We enjoyed delicious local food at a traditional restaurant fresh seafood and spicy Swahili dishes that everyone loved. Later, we visited the Village Museum, where we saw traditional houses and cultural performances. The National Museum gave us a glimpse into Tanzania’s history, while a walk along Coco Beach offered a perfect view of the Indian Ocean. The highlight was simply spending time together, laughing, exploring markets, and enjoying the energy of the city.
