Explora el cañón de Korouoma en invierno, conocido por sus cascadas congeladas y sus espectaculares formaciones rocosas que crean uno de los paisajes naturales más distintivos de Laponia. Operada por The Original Aurora Hunters®, Arctic GM es una empresa familiar con raíces en Laponia que data del siglo XVI, que combina el conocimiento local con un enfoque en el senderismo guiado en grupos pequeños. Después de la recogida, viajará a la reserva natural de Korouoma, ubicada lejos de las zonas turísticas concurridas. La caminata te lleva a través de senderos forestales y a lo largo del suelo del cañón, donde se forman cascadas congeladas durante las condiciones invernales. El ritmo es moderado, con tiempo para disfrutar del paisaje, tomar fotos y aprender sobre la geología y la naturaleza de la zona. Durante la caminata, se detendrá para disfrutar de una barbacoa tradicional de Laponia con bebidas calientes en un entorno tranquilo al aire libre.

Itinerario
Comience su experiencia con la recogida en Rovaniemi y traslado a la Reserva Natural de Korouoma, ubicada aproximadamente a 1,5 horas de la ciudad. A su llegada, comenzará una caminata guiada a través de senderos forestales que conducen a la zona del cañón. La ruta pasa por terrenos variados, incluyendo caminos boscosos y secciones a lo largo del suelo del cañón. Durante la caminata, visitará áreas donde se desarrollan cascadas congeladas y formaciones de hielo durante el invierno. Su guía elige la ruta exacta en función de las condiciones actuales. La caminata es a un ritmo moderado y constante, con paradas regulares para disfrutar del paisaje, tomar fotos y descansar. A mitad de la caminata, se detendrá en un lugar designado para el fuego para disfrutar de una barbacoa tradicional de Laponia con bebidas calientes. Después de completar la caminata, traslado de regreso a Rovaniemi. La duración total es de aproximadamente 6-7 horas.

The frozen water tour in Rovaniemi was an amazing winter wonderland experience. Walking across the frozen landscape felt magical, and the barbecue in the snow made the whole trip even more special. A simple, beautiful, and unforgettable adventure.
I had an incredible time! The guide and driver, Victor, truly went above and beyond to ensure everyone was safe and happy. Because the snow was melting a little, some parts of the hike were rather slippery, but Victor was very patient – he waited for everyone and offered help whenever it was needed. He was also a fantastic photographer, even lying down in the snow to get the best angles for our photos. Aside from the stunning views (the frozen waterfalls and the red river – just wow!), I learnt quite a bit about the geological formations and the flora and fauna around the canyon. And during the hike, Victor and our group picked up loose studs that had fallen off other hikers’ traction cleats. It felt so good to help preserve the environment, even in small ways! To top it all off, the BBQ was a nice touch. It was simple but cosy, set in a beautiful spot, and provided warming food after the hike. Highly recommend this tour and Victor to anyone visiting Rovaniemi!

Our day tour to Korouoma was beyond amazing! Our guide Natalia was outstanding leader and organiser. She kept the spirit of the group so high, she was smiling and welcoming us all. She gave us confidence and was unstoppable and full of energy I love every minute of this tour. Would repeat over and over again
We went to Frozen Falls with William and honestly, it was above all expectations. He shared a lot of interesting information about the area, which made the whole experience even better. He was super helpful on the tricky icy paths, and you can really see he cares about what he does. The waterfalls are incredible—definitely a unique adventure.

We had a fantastic day. The hike was so beautiful and well suited for us as beginners with medium fitness levels. The frozen waterfalls are very impressive. Our guide Bruno showed us some vantage points that we would not have found on our own and gave us a lot of knowledge. Vegan sausages were also organised on request for the barbecue.
