El Coliseo, monumento simbólico de Roma, recibió su nombre en la época medieval debido a una enorme estatua de Nerón que se encontraba junto a él, el Coloso. En el gran anfiteatro se celebraban los ludes circenses, que consistían principalmente en luchas entre gladiadores y peleas con animales feroces.
El Circus Maximus es un antiguo circo romano, dedicado a las carreras de caballos, construido en Roma. Con 620 metros de largo y 140 metros de ancho, se considera la estructura escénica más grande construida por el hombre.
La plaza es conocida porque desde el "ojo de la cerradura" de la puerta de entrada queda exactamente enmarcada la cúpula de San Pedro al final del jardín.
El "Gianicolo" es una colina romana, es uno de los lugares más panorámicos de la ciudad con vistas al este de los barrios vecinos y del centro histórico con los principales monumentos arquitectónicos de la ciudad. En lo alto de la colina (prácticamente bajo la estatua de Garibaldi) está colocado un cañón desde el 24 de enero de 1904 que dispara balas de fogueo exactamente al mediodía.
Piazza San Pietro es la plaza frente a la Basílica de San Pedro. La plaza forma parte de la Ciudad del Vaticano y está delimitada por la frontera con el estado italiano.
Castel Sant'Angelo, también conocido como Mausoleo de Adriano, es un monumento de Roma, situado en la margen derecha del Tíber (el río romano). A poca distancia del Vaticano, está conectada con el Estado del Vaticano a través del corredor fortificado del "passetto". El castillo fue modificado radicalmente varias veces en la época medieval y renacentista.
Piazza Navona es una de las plazas monumentales más famosas de Roma, construida en estilo monumental por la familia Pamphili, con la forma típica de un estadio antiguo. Piazza Navona, en la época de la antigua Roma, era el Estadio de Domiciano, construido por el emperador Domiciano en el año 85 y en el siglo III fue restaurado por Alejandro Severo. Tenía 265 metros de largo, 106 metros de ancho y tenía capacidad para 30.000 espectadores.
Hasta el siglo XV la plaza no existió como tal, y en su lugar había una pradera florida con algunas huertas cultivadas, de ahí el nombre. Según una tradición poco fiable, la plaza debería llevar el nombre de Flora (una mujer amada por Pompeyo, que había construido su teatro cerca de ella).

Domenico was excellent. He tailored the tour to what we wanted, and made sure we were parked in the shade (whenever possible) on a 34deg day. Took us directly to lots of places we would never have found on our own, or in a hop on Hop off tour. Couldn’t recommend this tour, and Domenico, enough.

Such a great idea because it ended up being 94F the day we were in Rome and it was so nice to be escorted around in an air conditioned van, stopping very conveniently for us to get out for as long (or short) as we wanted—Amer would wait for us right where he dropped us always VERY close to where we wanted to be. Awesome!
Do not book! The tour guides themselves were great! Andrea was very nice and very knowledgeable about his city! The vehicles were nice and well maintained and provided a cool break between site visits and greatly appreciated. Thank you!! However, the company is shady at best. They asked to be paid offline outside of Viator for an additional 250 Euro per vehicle (we arranged for 2). After receiving payment and ONLY on the morning of our adventure, were we told that our return trip required another full payment of 500 Euros. They are not honest in their business practices. We were able to arrange for another method of travel on our own after being harassed for the additional payment and refusal to take us back to port (our original pick up point). Again, only on the morning of the tour was it mentioned that our return trip was not included. We did get to see many nice sites in Rome, but we had to “encourage” our guides to take us where we wanted to go as they were not using the published guide of 8 stops during our 3 hour tour. Rome is a beautiful city, but with tourism as their primary means to their economy, be careful and continue to write reviews, as I would never want this to happen to another traveler! Dear Nedra, As you can see from your first wrong reservation, you booked 3 hours tour in Rome for 14 people (2 vans) without mention that the pick up and drop off location was at Civitavecchia cruise port, very far from Rome downtown (about 160km). As you can read on Viator communication platform, our team asked you if you also needed the 2 rides from and to Civitavecchia Port and you told us to book only one way (from Civitavecchia port to Rome); only at the end of the sightseeing tour, you asked the driver to take you back at the Cruise port. And we had to ask you for sure to pay an extra fee (always for 2 vans). For the next time, we kindly suggest to check which kind of product you're booking. Thank you
Amer was a wonderful tour guide and excellent driver! For our last day, we were exhausted but still had so much we wanted to see! He took us to everything and more and we were able to get out and take several photos! The Mercedes Van was beyond comfortable and luxurious! This is a must do! Thank you SO much, Amer!!!
It was a great tour! I highly recommend Roberto, we asked him to help us navigate Rome like locals and he took us to nice spots, waited for us, recommended a great place for lunch and dropped us off right where we needed to be. Amazing service and vehicle.
