Los Museos Vaticanos cuentan con muchas obras de arte que pertenecieron a los diferentes Papas y están llenos de belleza artística. Aquí hay un vistazo a algunas de las cosas más bellas que ver en los Museos Vaticanos. Salas y Galerías de los Museos Vaticanos, como la Sala de la Cruz Griega, la Galería de Mapas, la Galería de Tapices, Salas Rafael y mucho más! A partir de una colección relativamente pequeña de estatuas traídas por Julio II, se convirtió en un gigantesco museo hasta el punto de que nadie sabe siquiera cuántos objetos se guardan en las bóvedas y galerías del Vaticano.
La Galería de Mapas es un pasillo estupendo donde la geografía y la historia están perfectamente entrelazadas. Creada a finales del siglo XVI, toda la sala está dedicada a mapas personalizados, que muestran toda Italia. A un lado de la galería de 393 pies de largo hay dos representaciones del país: una de la época romana imperial y la otra de la década de 1500. La primera de las Salas Rafael (1508-1524) que se pintará al fresco –estudio del Papa Julio II– refleja los temas de teología, filosofía, poesía y justicia. El cuadro más destacado de Rafael, la Escuela de Atenas, destaca el grado de conocimiento adquirido a través de la razón. La más grande de las salas, la Sala de Constantino, representa la victoria del cristianismo sobre el paganismo, la Sala de Fuego está dedicada al Papa León IV, y la Sala de Heliodoro representa la liberación de San Pedro. ¡Un verdadero punto culminante en nuestro tour por el Vaticano!

Wonderful experience! Our guide Jeb was extremely knowledgeable and went at a great pace. He made a specific point to include the smallest of the children with us to make sure they saw everything. There is a cafe right next door to the meeting spot so if you’re going early, don’t worry about where you’ll get breakfast and a coffee before the tour. The check in process was super easy. Being able to spend about 20 minutes in the Sistine chapel was amazing. Then going right into the Basilica was perfection.
