Excellent service and prices.
Great way to get around rome the stops were near the venues we wanted to go to. Vatican and colloseum . Audio tour explaining different history points along the way in a variety of different languages. Will use again when I'm in rome.
Our tour of the Vatican was a disappointment. Our guide Maria was very friendly but seemed to only give information on art and history of her liking. She skipped through major works and some of the most beautiful rooms to continue talking about 1 person- Raphael. Everyone in the group was a bit antsy to keep moving and we’d often spend 10-15 minutes in one spot. Other tours and guides were zooming past us and often confused why we were just standing in the middle of the room blocking everyone. The coliseum tour with Emmanuel on the other hand was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly moving with intent through 3 spaces. Overall not a terrible experience but it sadly comes down to who your guide is.
Dear Jacob, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear that your Vatican Museums Tour did not meet your expectations. While we’re glad to know that Maria was friendly, we understand your concerns about the focus and pacing of the tour. We’ll ensure your comments are shared with her and our team to help improve the experience for future visitors. On the other hand, we’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your Colosseum Guided Tour with Emanuele. It’s great to know his knowledge and thoughtful pacing made a positive impression on your group. We appreciate your honest feedback about the variability of experiences based on the guide, and we are committed to ensuring consistency across all our tours. Best regards, Gray Line Rome
We loved both our tours and our guides. Namely Roberta and Maria. Our tours were informative and, thanks to the system with ear phones, easily heard. As our package also included a round trip on the Hop on Hop off bus some guidance with this would have been appreciated. As it was we missed that part of the package as we had no idea where the stops were.
We're delighted to hear that you loved both tours and had a positive experience with your guides, Roberta and Maria. It's great to know that the tours were informative and the earphone system helped in making everything easily audible. We apologize for any confusion regarding the Hop on Hop off bus portion of your package. We strive to provide clear and comprehensive information for all aspects of our tours, and we regret that the lack of guidance on the bus stops led to you missing out on this part of your experience. Your feedback is extremely valuable, and we will work to improve our communication about the bus routes and stops to ensure a more seamless experience for our guests in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again and provide an even better tour experience. Best regards, Gray Line Rome
Fabio spectacular guide best person! Mind-blowing how much I liked it. Thank you so much.
We had a sweltering day in the heat, but the experience was wonderful. On the first visit (Vatican Museums) we were with Ali, and everything went very well. Very interesting. On the second visit (Colosseum and Roman Forum) we were with Lucia. Lucia’s work was EXTRAORDINARY, she handled the group very well, adapting the course and contents to the sweltering temperature, attending to all the details. His level of knowledge of history is unbeatable, obviously and rating a GREAT VOCATION for what he does. Very remarkable and recommended. Thank you for the experience!!
We had Paola as our tour guide . She was absolutely amazing. She answered all of our questions, and she kept my attention the entire time. I felt like I went back into the time of ancient Rome. I could imagine everything in my head based on her descriptions and stories! This tour was worth every single penny! This was definitely the best tour I had in Italy so far!!! Thank you!!! Maria & Sean from Serbia
Our guide, Rita, was fantastic this morning. She was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed going to the Vatican city with her. We booked a lunch which was ok and included in the trip, but you had to pay for your drink, whatever it was. They had some musicians who came in and played and they then collect a donation if you want to. It gave us time to chill a little before the colosseum and then taxi picked us up for colosseum visit. The lady who took us around was friendly and knowledgea. We would say, if you have mobility issues you might want to think if this is really for you. There is a steep incline to start then it does smooth out but the Roman roads can be tricky to navigate for the more able too. There is a lift inside the colosseum to get to the top areas as the steps are steep. All in all though, we had a great day visiting two major sites in one day.we would recommend it but be prepared for walking! You also need to sort your own way back to your hotel but you can get picked up to start with.
Christina was absolutely fantastic! She was very knowledgeable about the coliseum and made the tour a lot of fun. Highly recommend!
Dear Laura, we are grateful for you giving us 5 stars and recommending our tours online! You reserved a combo tour to the Vatican Museums and the Colosseum, a fantastic way to explore these two highlights of Rome in one full day! Best regards, Gray Line Rome Reviews Team
Gray Line tours was recommended by our hotel concierge. We did both the Vatican/Sistine and the next day the Colesseum. Tour guide for the Vatican was Tahini and incredibly informative and personable. Tour guide for the Colosseum was Mun and she was also incredibly informative and personable. Both guides' English was spot on. I highly recommend the tours as there is no possible way to learn all there is by walking it yourself. Definitely worth skip the line. Also, customer service is top notch! I highly recommend Gray Line Tours!!
Thank you so much for your splendid detailed review about the Vatican Museums tour and the Colosseum tours with local guides you attended with us! It's so great to be feeling your enthusiasm! Your sharing it on TripAdvisor is much appreciated! Best regards, Gray Line Rome
